The Demigod Massacre

During the Age of Faith, the Quintalasist pantheon of 4 gods and 20 demigods ruled Latani and its people, offering guidence and blessings, shaping the land to their will and striving to maintain the perfect society without strife or conflict. This era lasted over 700 years until the goddess of balance Sheeran had a vision that foresaw the destruction of Latani itself. Fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes and all manner of other destruction that crumbled the continent flooded her mind. Her attention immidiately swung to the god of chaos Melka, whom her vision fortold would be the catalyst of such destruction. It was said that the battle between Melka and Sheeran was so great that it both split and reconnected the continent in the force of their clash. The result of the battle was seemingly in Sheeran's victory, with Melka rumoured to fall from the sky like a meteorite somewhere in Latani's east, while Sheeran disappeared into the sky, never to be seen again.   Soon after the conflict between Sheeran and Melka, the demigod children of all four gods were left confused, stressed and nervous. This was the first time their parents have fought among themselves and they didn’t even understand why. Mistaking her mothers actions as a declaration of war against Melka and his offspring, the demigod Teyamo fought the demigod Vito, Melka’s eldest. The battle lasted almost 3 whole months, leaving all manner of destruction in their wake before their wounds eventually stopped healing, and Vito finally fell dead, with the bloodied Teyamo standing and laughing hysterically in victory.   After this, the demigods became even more enraged and aggressive toward each other, but the main emotion they all felt was fear, because at the time the demigods didn’t know they could even be killed, that there was a limit to their lives. Due to this build-up of rage, pride and fear, the demigods all declared war on each other, grouping up based on their parental gods, all trying to wipe out the others. The battles that ensued between the great beings lasted anywhere from a few weeks to almost years in time all across the continent. The majority of the fighting overall only seemed to stop after around 5 years, with only five demigods surviving the conflict. The Demigod Massacre was the single most destructive conflict in the history of Latani, with changes to the continent and countless civilian deaths due to the sheer size and power of the demigod’s battles. The demigods that survived went into hiding and scattered across Latani either of their own perogative or from the demand of their godly parents, with their forms and power slowly deteriorating over the years since. In the aftermath, the gods themselves decided to take a more hands-off approach to their religion, hiding away and becoming less engaged with the people of Latani. The people, having lost many of their religious figures in a very sudden, violent and destructive way, became bitter and less religious for many years after in one of the darkest periods Latani has had, starting the Conflict Era.   Each of the demigods who died during the Demigod Massacre were at the peak of their power and magic, and after death, they would release a massive busrt of magical energy that would sometimes leave lasting impacts on the continent, a comprehensive list of all the demigod's deaths in cronological order and their magical aftermaths is written below.   Vito: Son of Melka. Killed by Teyamo. Upon death, Vito let forth a massive firestorm that burned away the trees and underearth, creating what is now the Hiegin Rock Flats. Today his body has a chance to randomly send forth a wave of fire.   Teyamo: Daughter of Sheeran. Killed by Gerdhardt. Upon death, the blast from Teyamo's body supposedly created The Frostwinds bay. Today Teyamo occasionally releases deadly beams of energy in random directions at random times.   Kaboar: Son of Haku-Mura. Killed by Serenity. Upon death, Kaboar's body bleed copious amounts of corrosive liquid, which bored and snaked deep into the earth, poisoning the region for many centuries and creating the Tachet Caves.   Telteny: Daughter of Melka, Killed by Withe. Upon death, Telteny's body allegedly crumbled and broke off a large section of the southeastern continent through multiple seismic shifts.   Kara: Daughter of Naka-Hara. Killed by Torren. Upon death, Kara's burst of magic permanently transformed a patch of the Mossy Forest, creating the Petal Trees.   Quinto: Son of Naka-Hara. Killed by Incineous. Upon death, Quinto's wave of bright white light destroyed everything in a 10 kilometer radius and blinded all who looked upon it. Today, Quinto's skeleton still glows atop a peak in the central High Mountains.   Regal: Son of Sheeran. Killed by Moravir. Upon death, Regal created a volcanic vent that pummeled the land with explosive flaming rocks and smoke. Regal's body now causes occasional earthquakes in the western edge of Latani.   Gorah: Son of Naka-Hara. Killed by Gerdhardt. Upon death, Gorah released a wave of energy that brought the plants and rocks to life, creating new creatures that now roam Latani.   Serenity: Daughter of Naka-Hara. Killed by Yutt. Upon death, Serenity's wave of energy perminently altered the DNA of the Europian people of the Dread Barrons, causing their bodies to take on more varied forms with their generations onward.   Yutt: Daughter of Haku-Mura. Killed by Orichev. Upon death, Yutt's body created a small but powerful black hole. Her body is currently in the Forbidden Lands, the black hole is still active today.   Orichev: Son of Sheeran. Killed by Ledoux. Upon death, Orichev's caused a massive water spout, his body now causes the southwestern seas to be constantly rough and stormy.   Moravir: Daughter of Naka-Hara. Killed by Marna. Upon death, she infested the region of Mara with monstrous beings that sprouted from her body, they kill anything on sight but they don't have the ability to leave the region.   Gerdhardt: Son of Melka. Killed by Ledoux. Upon death, Gerdhardt's body whipped up torrents of wind and snow, becaming the epicenter of the Never-Ending Snowstorm. An odd effect that seems to occur is that any time someone travels to region of Gerdhardt's Head, there is a very rare chance that they will be randomly teleported to the snowstorm in the Canat Ice Shelf   Incineous: Son of Melka. Killed by Torren. Upon death, Incineous' body burst forth a massive wave of burning lava. He now creates a steady flow of lava, which eventually formed the Great Lava River before the Lava Range was even created.   Withe: Son of Haku-Mura. Killed by Marna. Upon death effect is unknown, many speculate that it has something to do with the unnatural silence and dissapearences of the Silent Pines.
