Karmen Harris

Karmen Harris is a scrybe, scholar and researcher for Sorra Wingard, the Queen of Seroma herself. Karmen is shy and clumsy but hardworking and determined to do her job for her government. She has light brown skin, dark frizzy hair, round glasses, and her most striking feature are her bright amber-colored eyes, which give her the nickname "bright-eyes" among her colleagues. Karmen was born during the decline of Seroma's ecosystem and has experienced first-hand how it has slowly effected the wildlife, landscape and most importantly, the people. Karmen had also been stationed in the middle of the political fallout and panic during the worsening hardship, with her documenting every selfish decision and heated comment while working in parliment. She wishes to help her people in any way she can, while also seeking adventurous journey in a new world, potential new life, and perhaps finding a cure for the blight afflicting her world.   Karmen was sent to the neighbouring planet of Latani as part of the Scouts of Seroma, which was the first scouting excursion to attempt to map out Latani and its dangers. This was done in preperation for the eventual migration of the population of Seroma to hopefully escape their slowly dying world. After the scouting group was attacked by the people of dark magic, Karmen managed to survive, if not shaken by the new and sudden experience of violence and death. Despite this, Karmen searches for the surviving members of her group, while determined to continue her documenting work on the foreign continent.   Karmen is an energy magic user, though she is not experienced in many spells because her job doesn't demand any particular combat or utility. The only spell she has been appropriately trained in is "Static Shock" which acts as a muscle paralyzer, she learned the spell mainly for self-defence purposes. Karmen has been described as being very detail orientated and perceptive, which helps her out in her role as a scrybe and researcher. Despite her stagnant office lifestyle, Karmen has always yerned for the call of adventure since she was a young girl, the overhead planet of Latani facinated her, giving her an unhealthy obsession with the world and it's mysteries in her later years, despite such admiration being seen as sinful by the church of Creationism. It was because of such yearnings that she was one of the first to volunteer for the Scouts of Seroma, and was easily given a spot for her skills of pen, paper and perception.
