Jintali

Mainly making settlements in Central Latani and the Zarski Wilds are the beastial Jintali. Easily standing at around 7 feet tall, the Jintali are equal parts muscle and coarse fur, with thick plates of bone along the tops of their muzzles. Other physical attributes include slanted eyes, curved horns and wolf-like tails, legs and ears. At the tips of their muzzles is a sharp pseudo beak to help tear into their food more easily. Jintali are well renowned for their strength, aggressiveness and thick skulls in both senses of the term, working mainly with their bodies than their minds. Jintali are storied as being savage-mannered and as untamed as any wild monster, but also as respected conquerors of old who once held the largest empire in Latani's history, which are historic heights they still wish to honor to this day, working as guards, mercenaries and monster hunters wherever they can in local towns and cities.
Jintali are very physical with their casual communication, they punch or strike each other's bodies as casual gestures. As greetings, they headbutt each other with their thick, plated heads and often hold wrestling and sparing tournaments in their towns just for fun. Jintali are mostly loners outside their settlements, wandering and settling wherever they can, with only a few small permanent settlements scattered about Latani. Some of these tribes still desperately try to cling to their conquesting roots, attacking the lands around them in an attemThe only times when Jintali meet in mass is during war, which is when the Jintali become one of the most powerful fighting forces in all Latani. With their thick iron armor and massive two-handed weapons, they dress and present themselves as poised knights during battle, though their fighting style and overall mannerisms are still very much savage and brutal, opting to merely charge and swing wildly with their weapons. Other than that, they have never had a great sense of community with each other ever since their expansive empire fell apart centuries ago.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

Best known as travelling warriors, Jintali have not been known to be anything else throughout recent history. The powerful empire they once had has long since fragmented into nonexistence due to internal factors; and without much purpose of their own anymore, the Jintali go searching for it in the far corners of Latani. What is commonly considered to be the greatest accomplishment in Jintali culture is that of being remembered, even for the smallest of ordeals, which is thought to be the main reason why Jintali leave their homes and sell themselves out as mercenaries for the benefit of others.

Art & Architecture

The Jintali focus their art attention on music and weapon craft. Though their means of battle is rough and old-fashioned, their weapons and armor are most certainty not. Their heavy iron armor and sizable weapons are meticulously designed and further embroidered with carvings and imagery, each completely unique to the Jintali who crafted it. In terms of music, Jintali use very large and low-toned instruments paired with their deep, intense throat signing. The music is often quite intimidating and the Jintali have been known to use it to strike fear into opposing forces before battle.

Foods & Cuisine

Jintali are savage in every sense of the word when it comes to food, they eat almost exclusively meat, and they only cook and spice up their meals on special occasions. Jintali still find enjoyment in hunting down their prey barehanded like an animal, using their strong arms, claws, toothy jaws and pseudo beaks to do so.

Coming of Age Rites

Before a Jintali is allowed to leave their villages out into the world, they must prove they are capable enough to fend for themselves. Young Jintali must complete 3 tasks, bring back the skin and head of a predatory monster, craft your own weapon to take wherever you go, and defeat the village's combat trainer, in that order. Only then can a Jintali leave to make a name for themselves somewhere in the world.

Historical figures

Back when the Jintali had an empire that spanned nearly a quarter of all Latani, they had a total of five emperors:
  - Jhan Veldaken
  - Jhan Veldaken II
  - Iskavelt Rema
  - Kelbionis Reinfurt
  - Dreev Leskar
Once the empire fell, the Jintali never felt as though they had anyone to call Emperor, instead fragmenting into different Chief leaders.
The Jintali are what you get when you give a savage wild-man a proud knight's honor. Odd for sure, but no less crazed in combat."
