Creationism

Creationism is a religion that believes in the existence of a single god known only as The Creator. This god is preached as a being of the outer cosmos that decided to craft his own solar system around a lonely star. Using his powers of creation, he created the four planets of our system, the gas planet Kima, the barren rock planet Silt, the heretical planet of monsters Latani, and the perfect planet of mankind and magic that is Seroma. The Creator gave life to four children afterward in hopes they could help mange the population of Seroma, but his children grew greedy and jealous of his power and fought him for it. The Creator defeated them with a swipe of his hand and banished them to Latani, where the traitors would stay confined for eternity. After The Creator built his followers, delt with his heretical children and left hints around the world of his work, he left the people to discover his existence for themselves and then dedicate themselves to him in thanks for the life and gifts he gave them, he then went to rest in his palace of Quo. This is the main focus of Creationism, servitude and dedication to The Creator for all he has done for the world.   Creationism is the only major religion on Seroma, with other mainly pagan beliefs being cleared out of society completely. On Latani however, the religion is nearly nonexistent, with most humans abandoning their old god soon after the banishment that befell them and their prayers being met with useless silence. They were also not too keen on continuing to follow the religion of the people who sent them to their supposed deaths.   As for the afterlife of Creationism, there are the three realms of Gaio, Quo and Jiln. Gaio is told to be the red and black void of swirling darkness where damned souls are dragged into endless torment for straying away from the Creator’s grace. Quo is the great, holy mountain which grows, expands and evolves with every devout that join it after death, Quo is the home of The Creator himself, and the loyal dead are gifted with the Creator’s grace and live for the rest of time in peace and comfort. Jiln is the middle road, where lost souls who have strayed slightly away from grace must walk an endless path until their god feels fit to allow them to the mountaintops of Quo or sent plummeting into the depths of Giao.   The religious symbol of Creationism is known as the Prism Star, a diamond that is split into colored sections for all the known elements of magic. Red for fire, blue for water, green for nature, grey for air, white for light, yellow for energy, brown for earth, and purple for mind. There also used to be a black section that represented dark, but the section was decidedly removed from the symbol after the Great Banishment. This symbol is worn by everyone in positions of power and it represents the stars of The Creator's origin and the colors represent the gifts of magic that were given to the people.

Structure

Church and Government above the public. Order of the Church goes Acolyte, Server, Priest, Bicon.

Culture

All science, magic, life and way of the world come from the will and work of The Creator. Those of the religion are highly devoted to their god and discouraged from questioning his and the churches will. Those who go against the church and The Creator are either punished, banished or killed depending on the severity of their crime. The culture is very strict and controlling for the greater good of faith and overall wellbeing in the community.

Mythology & Lore

One day, a being of the infinite cosmos decided that he would make the perfect world, he began by finding a lone star and got to work in creating his worlds. To test his ways of creation, he formed gas and air, making a planet comprised fully of every form of gas he could make. He then tested his work of the dirt and stone to lay the would-be foundations of his world, so he made his next planet comprised of earth and minerals. He then tested his ability to make life itself, so he made a new planet and created countless strange beings and civilizations of varying form and ability, even discovering the concept of magic in the process, his progress eventually got too out of hand, and he made nightmarish beasts and monsters that still wander the planet to this day. And finally, he made the last planet, the perfect planet of life, magic and prosperity, he then went to rest, content with his work and keeping a rightful watch over those who now worship his efforts.

Divine Origins

It is unknown when the exact time Creationism and the worship of The Creator started. General consensus estimate that the religion goes back nearly three thousand years, while others record it to older, while others say younger. In any case, Creationism started to become more prominent in society around six hundred years ago.

Tenets of Faith

  • Respect, order and unity.
  • Creation and creativity is sacred and must be specifically controlled in the image of the Creator.
  • Everyone has their place and must contribute to the greater of society no matter the position or service.
  • The word of the government and church are absolute, for they are the Creator’s representatives and guide others to his cosmic divinity.
  • Reverence and obedience comes first, entertainment and pleasure comes second.
  • Absolute devotion is the only path to salvation.
  • Protect the image and dignity of The Creator and the church at all times.
  • Find and punish those who would go against him and his gifts of life.
  • Worship

Prayers of thanks are expected to be given to The Creator before acts of importance, such as eating, stepping into church or school, practicing magic, sleeping and so on. The belief that one should be thankful to The Creator for creating all aspects of life is deeply ingrained into those of Creationist faith. More official forms or prayer requires one to open their arms outward to their sides and raise your head while giving your prayer.

    Political Influence & Intrigue

Most if not all religious figures in Creationism are favored just as high as most royalty, with many of the priests making most of the laws in society and holding great amounts of power, often to improve communities and improve favor with their all-powerful deity and government. Though these suggested laws must pass through Seroma council first, they nonetheless have great say in how decisions are made.

Give all you are to him, our giving Creator

Though Creationism makes up almost 96% of Seroma's religion, on Latani it is almost non-existent, with most leaving the faith after failing to believe that the Creator would allow their exile and for their prayers to be met with silence.
