The Bottomless Murk

The Deepest hole in Lasital. Its top is covered by roots and plants that allow people to walk over and even climb down. At the bottom there is a river leading into a cave called Ajarna River and it is a hotspot for Neried activity. The forest has multiple fungal trees and is home to the giant spores which the native Akalan Moths feed on for sustenance. The Akalan Moths (Whale sized Moths) are preyed upon by the Champion-Nimulkiar Moth. It was once the most obscure spot in Lasital which says something since it is located in one of the most obscure places, The Denjinar Jungle. it is 82.56km squared.

Geography

It is a huge crater full of plants that thrive in the dark. It is surrounded by caves.

Ecosystem

The Fungivores and Herbivores are generally peaceful and tend to avoid knocking down trees and harming the environment. Under the surface of the soil mycelium connects all of the plants in a mutual network of communication. The bottom is lit up by Dimly glowing red crystals that the moths nest around.

Ecosystem Cycles

In winter the insects are slower and less active than in summer but this just means the reptiles can be more active and the spores can accumulate into new fungal trees. The night time is when the Nimulkiar moths are most active and on the prowl.

Fauna & Flora

The Fungal Trees produce giant spores that feed a lot of the local wildlife- they are 5cm wide and 5cm tall. The native sauropods Gamanasaurus eat leaves and seaweed- They are 4.8m tall and 26m long. Akalan Moths are huge moths that eat the giant spores- they are 21m long and have pheromones that can influence them. Nimulkiar moths are the apex predators of the Bottomless Murk- They are 17m Long and their front legs have become mantis like claws and their mouths have sharp mandibles. There are also Deinonychus and Utahraptor packs. The Arthropleuras are 2.5m long. There is a group of Tyrannosaurus rex's in the crater that hunt the Gamanasauruses. There are also Xiphactinus lurking in the depths of the waterways. Koolasuchus also prowl the more shallow bodies of water. The giant conifer trees make excellent hiding spots for birds and hummingbird moths.

Natural Resources

Spartinite crystals are non-dangerous light sources but they aren't very bright but they can be used to make staves and wands. The insects can be used to harvest setae fur, meat and chitin. The Tyrannosaurus's can be killed to obtain their fur like feathers and strong scales.
