Lasair Map Updated!

As part of doing a review of Lasair's economy for a future article, I identified a couple of places that I wanted to make some changes. These changes are as follows:

    • Adding a forest in the southern City-States Region near Suranor
    • Adding a forest and more settlements near Southport, creating a new adventure hub outside of the two main settled regions

The forest addition near Suranor was due to my identifying that there wasn't really any source of general lumber in the region that could be logged without making some supernatural or social force rather upset. This will be a relatively small update that will mostly just affect the article about the city.
The new "Midlands Frontier" region around Southport came to be when during the econ review I realized that there really wasn't very much reason for there to be actual trade between the north and south other than some minor migration. So I took what I had already established at Southport (a hub for those seeking travel through the Southern Wastes) and added a bit of self-sustainability for the area. This has the effect of making this into an area of more cultural interaction between the human-dominant west coast and the more multi-species south coast. This new region will serve as an excellent springboard for adventure going in either direction while also creating a space for more traditional RPG parties that have fewer restrictions on character races. It also has the nice side effect of creating a space for humans who don't particularly want to live in the City-States Region for whatever reason - though it is still not necessarily a save haven for Wurmborn.
Finally, an incidental change made to the map in this update is that I finally made the map call the Korth'an Conclave by its real name. I decided to change its name from the Korthan League around the same time I made the map, and the old name snuck through. The map now reflects the correct name for the political body of that region.
The map changes will take some time to integrate into the website as a whole, but I'm sharing the new map here, as well as a visual "change log" of where things were added/modified.
