Goblins of Largitas

The Goblins of Largitas are not defined by where they come from, but by where they are. Goblin culture is best understood not as a static tradition, but as a living, bubbling stew of scavenged values, habits, tools, and ideologies—all simmered together into something unmistakably Goblin.

Whether in wind-bitten canyons, Bloom-infested ruins, or urban alley-boroughs, Goblins observe, assess, and adopt whatever works. They're tribal by nature, but adaptable by necessity, forming entirely new cultural systems overnight if the situation demands it.

"Give a Goblin a home, and they'll turn it into an engine-powered soup kitchen by dawn."

In Summary

Goblins are scrappy survivors, brilliant improvisers, and chaotic neighbors with an unshakable appetite—for life, for food, and for figuring out how everything works (or breaks). They’re not just copiers of culture, but cultural remixers—transforming everything they absorb into something explosively, hilariously Goblin.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Physical Diversity

Though not quite as morphologically diverse as Orcs, Goblins nonetheless display a wild range of bodily adaptations, many believed to be the result of ancestral crossbreeding, environmental mutation, or just Goblins being Goblins.

Some common variations:

  • Prehensile tails (used for cooking, grappling, or surprise slaps)
  • Oversized ears (excellent for echolocation and gossip)
  • Rubbery skin or double-jointed limbs
  • Mossy hair, reflective eyes, or naturally growing piercings
  • “Pocket glands” that store snacks, potions, or marbles (for emergencies)

Dietary Needs and Habits

Goblin Cuisine: Bold, Bizarre, and Boiled

If it fits, it cooks.
Goblins possess an extremely advanced digestive system that rivals (and occasionally disgusts) the rest of the Ancestries of Largitas. They can eat nearly anything organic—and some things that are not.

  • Boiled bone sludge
  • Bloomslime fritters
  • Fermented hoof
  • Ash-spiced gluefish
  • Rot-on-a-stick
  • “Mystery loaf” (don’t ask)

Some Goblins have been known to digest raw magic, mossy stone, or half-melted boots in desperate times—and occasionally even in celebratory ones.

"Tastes like victory. Or perhaps burnt leather. Either way, more?”
— Goblin Chef Brikkle

Behaviour

Mental Traits & Behavior

Goblins are naturally curious, quick-thinking, and instinct-driven. They're prone to skittishness, especially when startled, and their immediate response is often:

  1. Shriek
  2. Throw something
  3. Ask questions later (maybe)

This reflexive aggression makes them dangerous in tight quarters—but also impressively quick to defend their kin or improvise solutions under pressure.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Society and Structure

Goblin society is typically tribal or clan-based, with loyalty to the group trumping personal ambition. Leadership structures vary wildly, including:

  • Cook-Kings
  • Scavenger-Councils
  • Whoever's Yelling the Loudest
  • Actual democratic vote conducted by throwing bones

In multi-ancestral cities, Goblins often form tight-knit neighborhood guilds, known for noise, ingenuity, and spontaneous marketplaces.

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Cultural Adaptivity

Goblins are often misunderstood as having “no culture” of their own. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Rather, they have a meta-culture: one defined by rapid assimilation and relentless experimentation.

  • A Goblin tribe living near Elves might begin brewing mushroom tea and speaking in riddles.
  • One near Dwarves may build ramshackle forges and start worshiping cast iron.
  • Those among Humans often end up forming gangs, running junk markets, or mimicking parliamentary debates with far more shouting and spitting.

Yet they always add a distinct flair—chaotic efficiency, surprising ingenuity, and a stubborn refusal to give up their beloved foods and eccentric rituals.

Common Sayings

  • “If it ain’t nailed down, it’s community property.”
  • “Tastes better if you don’t ask what it is.”
  • “Learn fast, chew faster.”
  • “Culture is soup—we just throw in extra bits.”

I adore them, they are wonderful! 'Culture is soup we just throw extra bits in' absolutely fantastic. Maximum goblin energy, I wish them nothing but success :)

Great take on goblins. Hectic and eclectic and I love them.
