The Leads

The Leads was the name of the military headquarters in Trave. While Trave itself was known as the center of the Dentherion Empire military, the Leads was where every decision was argued over and voted on.   While the Leads had military personnel, barracks, arms depot, vehicle storage and the like, most people thought of the cloudbreaker that towered over everything else.   Positioned in the center of the complex, the Leads was a 100-story giant that had skyshroud tether platforms at the top. The first thirty-five floors had leadcommander offices, communications, and meeting rooms dedicated to one specific empire puppet state, while the rest housed all officers and equipment needed to run a tech-saavy modern miitary.   During the invasion years, it housed captive rulers and other detained dignitaries, provided a place for diplomats to stay, and became the center of Taangin-Dentherian relations. Eventually, all top-secret empire business happened there, whether it was Council or military.   It was as much the center of the empire as the dual-Council buildings in the capital, Allesha.   Was, being the optimal word.  

  The leadcommanders, feeling the need for a show of force to combat the perception that the empire was failing, chose to dock their fleet of gigantic skyshrouds to the Leads' docking platforms. They knew the giant ships were running out of aquatheerdaal, the mineral that fueled all Dentherion tech, but they did not believe one would fail over their heads.   How mistaken they were.   A skyshroud's jets failed, and the ship sheared off the top of the Leads on its way to the ground, destabilizing the rest of the structure. Within moments of the vessel crashing, the rest of the building plummeted to the ground in flame.   Once the symbol of the military might of the Dentherion Empire, it took moments for it to become a smoking rubble, the surrounding complex buried under its weight.   The Leads' destruction heralded the beginning of the end of the Dentherion Empire.
