Session 16 - Steel and Secrets Report

The meetup with the smugglers went without a hitch. The payment was made, and three crates of wands were transferred over. Unfortunately, Lorcan did not mention whether or not he had told anyone *else* the good doctor's location.   Hiding in an abandoned church in the Nettles, the party interviewed Wolfgang and reviewed the papers he had absconded the crime scene with. They confirmed that the day of the murder was indeed the first time he had ever met the deceased Nilasa Hume, and discovered that there were other factories with the dark liquid hiding away, something Wolfgang referred to as "witchoil", a substance he insisted came in no more than one or two ounces at a time.   During the on-site debriefing, the party was attacked by three shadowy figures. Two were from a little-known people native to the Bleak gate, and the third was the shadowy figure that had harassed them on Cauldron Hill, and attacked Wolfgang the day of the murder. This ended poorly for the ambushers, as Ældreth pulled off a Compel Duel that forced the "ambush" killer to stand and fight. The attacker, and likely killer of Nilasa is dead. The mastermind behind the greater conspiracy remains unknown.   As the party attempted to leave, the door they entered was blocked by steel rods forced through the neighboring stone. A group had assembled outside, prepared to talk. The party never gave them a chance, escaping by the hidden exit that Eoghan had discovered earlier.   The next morning, the party received invitations to meet Morgan Cippiano at a coffee shop on the riverside.
