House Estony

In 1256, Robert Estony inherited his father's humble wheat farm a few miles north of Dia'Vasi. He struggled to make ends meet for many years even losing his first wife Evelynn and child to an especially harsh winter. In the face of such loss he didn't give up but instead worked day and night to bring up his profits so that no one he loved would ever again starve or go cold. Robert took loans and bought up more and more land hiring workers to help him carry the ever growing burden. After a few decades the name Estony was well known, Robert owned much of the available land in the river valley and was now providing produce for the vast majority of eastern Avalia. He became a wealthy and well known man who was looked up to as a wise businessman and a dedicated father. His legacy is what lead to the formation of the town Esston and the rise of his family from peasants to lords and ladies. When he passed King Herold IV of Eswicks granted his family rule over the new barony of Esston and the rest is history.   Since their rise to power, House Estony has been essential to the healthy economy of northern Eswicks and then later the Grand Duchy of Avalia. During the Green Fever of 1367, House Estony was able to provide clean food for those in need saving thousands of lives.   Their motto; Weave trust with trust comes from something Robert Estony used to say when making deals and trades.   Their family crest three boughs of wheat on a red and yellow field represent the golden yields and the blood that ties the family together.   In the current year House Estony has become the ruling family of Southern Avalia, due to their popularity, influence and riches. During the past five years there have been many fundemental changes to the world; the stars have darkened, monsters roam the wilderness and war is everywhere. During these trying times House Estony was able to protect their estates and civilians with their militia and mercenaries. With the rise of arcane weaponry and tactics due to the influence of the Crimson Company those who could afford to pay for said weaponry or for the salary of those knowledgeable in their creation and use have an edge over all others.
