Tenets of Faith

In the beginning, there was only Skeinor, the first one, the primordial being.  Then he beheld two sisters, Raya and her sister Metra.  Both smiled winsomely at him and begged to join with him in marriage.  But he was Skeinor, the Free One, and he did not wish to be chained, even by love.  But despite this, his feelings for the younger sister, Raya the Lady of Light, erupted in his heart and he realized that he must have her as his bride.  For honor's sake, he spoke to both sisters at once, so both would know his respect for them.  Then he married Raya and began to live with her as man and wife.  And all was good.   Yet after some time had passed, he found that his wife was more and more absent from their table and their bed.  Her conversations with him became more brief, her silences more frequent.  She would stay away from him for long periods of time.  Concerned, Skeinor spied upon his wife to see what was amiss.  He watched as Raya and her sister created a plaything together, a world that was only their own and held nothing of his power upon it.  Angered and embarrassed at their selfishness, he revealed himself and blew out his mighty breath upon their toy, covering it with his winds and clouds.  Thus caught at their dalliance, Raya wept and confessed to her sin, while Metra ran and hid within the world they had created, unable to face him in her shame.  Having heard his wife's pleas for forgiveness, he pardoned her and they returned to their home, where they once again lived as husband and wife.   In the fullness of time, Raya grew pregnant and gave birth to a sickly child who she named Eoa.  Skeinor saw some strength in his son, but his duties took him often away, so he left the raising of his son to Raya.  In this alone did he err, for Raya turned the boy's mind and heart against him with lies and entreated the boy to aid her in her revenge against the Lord of Storms.  Eoa, who knew only the false words of his mother, pierced his father's clouds with his power and set foot upon the world, something no immortal god can ever do.  With tears in his eyes, Skeinor pronounced the only possible sentence against this crime - banishment from the heavens, and the elimination of the boy's immortality.   For doing his sworn duty, Raya spat and hissed at him and ejected him from her bed and house forevermore.  He watched as Raya gave their son an artifact from the heavens, and he chose to remain above, watching his son grow into a man and then a leader of men.  From his chariot of winds, Skeinor was once more free of all chains, and chose to show all the power that comes with freedom.  Thus, Skeinor the Storm Lord acts upon the world, his storm clouds bringing life-giving rain, and the winds showing all people what freedom looks like.
