Kevastis the Maker
(a.k.a. Lord of Forge and Loom)
Records of Kevastis hearken back to the First Age, and discuss his mastery over the arts of building and creating wondrous things. It is said he supported Korax up to the Great War, but abandoned the Dominator after the conflict began.
During the Second Age, Kevastis is said to have wandered the world, creating relics and artifacts for anyone willing to meet his price. Stories describe him as cynical and amoral, trusting only in his skills and selling his work to the highest bidder. He disappears from records around the start of the so-called "Lost Years", which scholars believe is when godhood was conferred upon him and he ascended to the heavenly realm.
Since the start of the Third Age, Kevastis has been a staple patron godling for smiths, weavers, inventors and craftsmen of all stripes. Most crafting guilds keep a shrine to him within their guildhall, and people generally tithe to his church before beginning a significant construction or other project. The tradition of a craftsman marking objects to identify their work began with Kevastis; as a result, the addition of a "Maker's Mark" upon a crafted object is often made a part of a holy ritual to the Lord of Forge and Loom.
While most heritages worship Kevastis, the Dwarves in particular, with their love of crafting (and without any gods of their own), consider Kevastis to be their heritages patron god.
