Duchess Nezetta Tepest

Nezetta Tepest was the first born of her parents, the late Duke and Duchess of Recintia. She has three younger sisters; a brother, who would have been second-born after her, died within days of being born. Nezetta's father, while holding out hope for a son, began teaching his first born daughter how to rule. She loved the martial training, especially horsemanship.   When she was a teenager, she was briefly betrothed to the eldest son of Duke Froude, until his untimely death. While there was some talk of a betrothal with the younger brother Matvey, now Duke Froude, Nezetta put her foot down and refused. Instead, she accepted the proposal of a minor courtier and married. She and her husband have had four children thus far.   Nezetta was knighted by King Brenwell in her twentieth year. She requested but was not permitted to enter the Knights of the Watch or the Knights of the Blazing Sun. She was made a Knight of the Rose, but the prospect of acting as an honorary bodyguard for the royal family was not appealing to her, so she declined. Instead, she persuaded her father to appoint her to his agent in charge of hiring mercenary companies for the duchy. Nezetta went further, taking part in the various battles between the mercenary troops of House Tepest and the rival houses who opposed them.   After a few years, she married a mercenary captain who had noble blood.  Her father, who had hoped for a more advantageous marriage contract, objected but ultimately did not stop the wedding.  Since her wedding, she and her husband have had four children, two girls and two boys.   Five years ago, Duke Trebor Tepest passed away, and Nezetta became Duchess Tepest.  She continued her father's political alliances with the so-called Green Faction, becoming especially close with Duke Lucherto.
