Free Rim Association
The FRA was a loose coalition of otherwise independent stations located across the Long Rim, usually far from any major traffic lanes used by transitory vessels. Although the FRA had a fairly substantial number of members, its member-stations were both highly economically impoverished, even by the standards of the Long Rim, and prone to infighting with one another. As a result, the political, financial and economic power that the FRA could muster in practice was considerably lower than its physical size would imply. The most noteworthy asset that one could call an 'advantage' of the FRA was its ability to reliably make contact with and receive priority trading rights from los Voladores.
