Bonus Elder

Now listen here, y'all. Y'know how people say, respect your elders? Nah, fuck that. There's plenty of elders out there that suck more than an Ursa stalking your 'stead while you're shitfaced. Nobody's perfect and the selection process for Homesteaders def wasn't either. Some people that made it through, were asswipes from the very start. Others just lost it and should have opted for more therapy. But I digress.   So. Plenty of shitty elders out there, both parents and just nosy interlopers. Which does leave some folks without proper support, meaning that they basically get tossed into the deep end. Now we don't like that, so that's where us other nosy folks come in. Some people actively interfere and pick fights. Helps sometimes, not ideal in all cases. Others, we're here in case y'all just need a chat.   So yeah, some folks call us bonus elders. At this point we're perfectly willing to accept the name, as embarrassing as it may sound. If any of y'all just doesn't know what to do and gets less than no support from yer shitty parents? Just come on over. Plenty of friendly folks about to give you a proper pepper-upper support word. And be less than friendly to your folks if they want to pick a fight about that.   Y'might wonder, what puts us apart of the other nosy interlopers? Who decides who's right? Honestly, the people who get helped, they're the ones deciding. Because even with good intentions, even the best folks can fuck up. So we don't get to claim to be the ones that are always in the right. Even an experienced kind elder can jump the gun.   That said, there's lessons though. Specifically therapists that give advice and teach us how not to push y'all too much or too little. It's always a tricky thing, of course, but it really helps. We too can use advice, so we can pass things on better. So yeah, if you're feeling unheard, but also if you just don't dare talk to yer folks about something, y'all can always give any of us a call.
