Gabriel Blackwater
Duke Gabriel Blackwater is the Lord of Neverwinter. He is friendly and generally a well regarded nobleman.
He served for years as a decorated officer in the Neverwinter Army, acquiting himself well in a number of conflicts across the continent. In particular, he and his men were pivotal in the Empire's defence of Triboar from the Verani at the Battle of Lake Borea.
After his father's death due to cholera, he was forced to leave the military and take his position as the Lord of Neverwinter. He sometimes chafes against the restrictions of politics and is eager to get back out into the field, but he cares deeply about his subjects and the safety of his realm.
After the death of his mother in childbirth, his father remained distant from his son. Instead, most of the responsibility for raising Gabriel fell to the Neverwinter Master at Arms, Sildar Hallwinter. Sildar became a surrogate father to Gabriel.
