Chapter 3-9 - Kenedibra

A couple of days out from the Djazhck encampment, Miaug was hunting game for dinner. She stalked silently along behind a small herd of boar; when suddenly an earthshattering bellow broke the peace. A hulking armoured behemoth rushed out of the undergrowth directly at the Tabaxi.
It's beaked head down, it levelled it's massive horns at Maiug's chest. Thick wiry hairs stood out across its heavily scaled carapace. Miaug reacted instinctively, throwing herself out of the way of the beast. As she rolled to her feet, she manifest her Stormbow and nocked an arrow in a smooth motion, tracking the creature's movement as it circled back around. She watched it's erratic movements as it waved it's head wildly. Unfamiliar as she was with the beast, she could clearly see that this creature was out of it's mind with rage and pain, acting on instinct rather than any malicious intent.
It charged towards her again, she loosed two arrows. One caught the beast in the side of the head, tearing a chunk of scale off. The other sunk deep into it's foreleg, causing it to stumble momentarily and robbing it's charge of much of it's momentum. Miaug spun in the opposite direction, the monster barrelled through the space she had previously occupied. Like a dancer, Miaug slipped another arrow from her quiver and pulled the sting taut. Electricity coursed from her gauntlet, along the arc of the bow and down the shaft of the arrow, imbuing it with a flickering blue glow. She loosed the shot, and as it passed over the arm of the bow, the arrow dissolved into a bolt of lightning which lanced out and struck the creature in the side. Blue electricity danced across it's skin, and sparks crackling between adjacent hairs. The creature turned surprisingly quickly, catching Miaug off guard and sweeping her aside with it's horns. She tumbled through the air and thudded heavily against a nearby tree.
The creature stomped it's feet to ready for another charge, but Badger leapt off the ground and sunk his teeth deep into the beast's neck. Lightning discharged at the point of contact with a thunderous crack, and the sharp smell of ozone filled the air. Badger's body was tossed through the air by the force of the explosion. But the little fox twisted in mid-air, landing on all four paws and skidding backwards, seemingly unaffected by the lightning which had just coursed through his body. He lunged forward to make a second attack. Taking advantage of the diversion, Miaug nocked an arrows and loosed it as the fox darted towards his target. The arrow found it's mark, striking the creature in the eye and causing it to roar in fear and confusion. Injured and afraid, the beast turned and ran off into the jungle.
As Miaug went to stroke Badger, a spark of electricity arced to her hand, causing her to yelp in pain and surprise. Badger looked upset, but she smiled at him and reached out with her other hand, encased in the Stormbow gauntlet. As the last of the static build up discharged into her hand, the gems in the gauntlet glowed briefly, safely absorbing the energy. As she bent down to cuddle the fox, she felt something sharp pierce her neck. Reaching back, she plucked out a tiny black fletched blow dart. Her vision began to swim, growing dark. The last thing she felt was a wave of vertigo and the ground rushed up to meet her.
