Financial Event
Ghei Wyl and Kala fund Saltkrigere efforts in hopes of securing future safety from Caripreet and Eldurgrund.
After the war between the Saltkrigere forces of Shellbay and the usurping forces of Fjordstrond, Eldurgrund, and Saint's Maar had been waged for 2 years, the elves and j'barri began to take note of the resilience of the outnumbered Saltkrigere. Ghei Wyl, noting Caripreet's lack of involvement, began to worry about the merchant nation's intentions. Having dominated the Caripreet Sea in the preceeding generations, they feared that a future attempt at expansion would come to mirror the crimes committed during the The War of Eyiliv . In hopes of preventing such action, the elves would fund the notably more conservative forces, hoping that their desire to preserve their own culture would prevent them from attempting to develop a multispecies empire. While they had considered allocating their funding to the usurping forces (realizing they would have the advantage of numebrs and resources), word had spread that the j'barri would be assisting the Saltkrigere as well. The rumors were true, as Kala had come to revere their ancient history thanks to Vhou Riyael, yet many took away the wrong message. New ideas were spreading regarding the ownership of j'barri firemagic weaponry, which all resided behind the borders of Eldurgrund at this time. Anti Eldurgrund sentiments began to spread along the council, leading to the funding of the Saltkrigere. In return, Kala requested the weapons be returned to their "people of origin." The Saltkrigere would comply, believing that the disposal of the weapons would be crucial to ensuring that the culture of the rebelious people could be stamped out for good. Vhou Riyael, who sat the Council of Kala at this time, heavily advised that the funding be kept secret, if it were to occur at all. He feared another War of Eyiliv , which saw nations around the world unite into the largest destructive forces to date. Unfortunately for the two benefacting nations, the Saltkrigere would lose, ensuring that their finances had gone to waste and that Eldurgrund and Caripreet would eventually learn of their opposition.
