Discovery of Urrfolk, Hunting Begins

Discovery, Exploration

1032

The discovery of the Urrfolk on the island within the Fingerless Gulf. The humans that lived off the coast would quickly establish a hunting lodge intended for "big game hunting."

While humans may have travelled to the island of the Urrfolk in history, all stories and history were wiped away by Ettermiddag. As humanity began expanding once more into land that their gods had ordained for them, they would eventually reached the west coast of Trinen. The land appeared barren of anything unique to other pioneer discoveries, aside from the astoundingly strange Lyslure Woods, but this land provided nothing valuable for humanity and the lumber was quick to rot.   Everything changed when the pioneers waded the waters south of their position, where they found an island "draped in evil, as if it was stuck in the dark ages." Luckily, most of those who ventured to the island on the raft managed to escape, but they were forced away by the 10-15 foot monsters on the island. They even claimed one to be as tall as 30 feet. The beasts truly struck the travelers with fear, but some saw opportunity.   With one letter back to Euvurcrest, the coastal hunting lounge became a hit. The pioneers, now entrepreneurs, managed to fell a 10 footer, displaying its head and claiming that it took one man to slay the beast. The wiser (yet more physically experienced) of Eldurgrund such as the Eldur Knights recognized the hoax for what it was and rarely went to the island (all the better for the native population). Foolhardy hunters were not so lucky, paying and trading mountains of goods just for a chance to prove their worth against the monsters. Few survived these hunts, but those that did could not have their skill questioned.   This lounge has now grown into a large community and lordship known as Urrlógun.
