Soutliht
The capital and largest city of Ysward, Soutliht, which means "South Light" in the old tongue, started as a lighthouse to guide ships into the Abrovil River as they made their way upstream to Mapoint. Ships often stopped in the natural harbor behind the point the lighthouse stood on, and soon, a town grew up there to support the sailors. it quickly grew into a busy shipping port, and then into the most important settlement in Ysward. At the end of the great Fallen Incursion, the King of Ysward, submitted to the Empire, and was given the title of Duke, as trade between the Duchy and the Empire grew, Soutliht became more important and prosperous, so one of the Duke's ancestors moved the capital from Mapoint here, and left Mapoint in his brother's hands.
