WorldEmber Prep 2025
Tis time for another WorldEmber!
This year has been a difficult one. Y'know how they say, sometimes when it rains, it pours? Well, sometimes that downpour creates a flood.
I'm spending November and December recharging , and while I still want to reach 25K, I'm not going to stress if I don't.

Re-read My Core Articles
I plan to do this for Wellspring Dragons and Lapis of Nicodem, not so much to get into the groove, but to see if they still hold up.
Wellspring was my first site on World Anvil, started in 2019, with Lapis close behind in 2020. It's where I learned about BBCode and CSS--and it shows. Re-vamping core articles to meet my new aesthetics is a must.
This will include new artwork, too. I've improved since I got back into drawing on a regular basis.

I've been on the Discord server a while, and have been watching a few streams. I'm hoping to have time to be more active, but we'll see.
Visual Appearance of My Worlds
I plan to do this for Wellspring Dragons as well. I had fire in mind previously, and that has changed to ice. What I'm not certain about is changing the color of the font. I like the gold, even if silver seems a more frosty color to me.
But, as you can see from this article, gold and snow has a nice feel about it.
For Wellspring, I need a darker feel, but not too dark. There are horrific elements in the books, but they aren't horror stories.
Evenacht will need a refresh to coincide with the new book. I need to figure out how to draw a convincing ocean whirlpool...
Greenglimmer was green (duh) so I'm looking at a nice ocean blue and golden sands with menacing grey blues to represent the islands.
And Lapis of Nicodem...I don't know what to do with Lapis. Front page is great, article design has always been rough. There's a part of me that wants it cyberpunk, but it's a science fantasy. It needs a fantastic feel.
I will continue to struggle with this. Truthfully, I don't know why I'm having such a difficult time with it.

What I Hope to Accomplish
I've fallen behind on what I wished to accomplish this year due to several minor/middling misfortunes and one major catastrophe. I'm hoping to catch up through November and December.
Will I? I have no idea. I need a break, too. Not only did I publish the fourth Wellspring book, I finished Broken Dulcet and Greenglimmer this year (and started Re-caast). So yeah, that's three, fantasy-length books completed this year despite setbacks.
Creative juices will not restore themselves.
I hope to finish the articles I planned to write earlier in the year, and the artwork I wanted to complete as a celebration of milestones.
Frostify the site and get the Rakan map up before December. Plan relevant articles on Rakan (country), Rakan (people), Catak (language), aki n'di ori clans and historical figures.
Evenacht:
Get website Windtwist Isles-ified. Nothing more terrifying than a tropical beach, no? Well, maybe if it's in view of the largest whirlpool in the Windtwist Islands.
Then plan on articles about the Windtwists and weather (very important to Evenacht ecology), cover a few species, and write about Templest Isle and its main city.
Lapis of Nicodem
Read through old articles and take down ones that aren't relevant/revamp those that are. Revamp character articles/art, write country articles. Make timelines.

Love the styling, it's so pretty! Best of luck this WorldEmber, I hope you have fun!
