  •   Super TL;DR
The majority of Team 1 materialized in the village of Farglen as Team 2 plus Molar fought against waves of thugs and mercenaries hired by Miller. The situation got so bad that the Empire declared an extermination order for the whole town. Miller’s thugs ran away as Walt opened a portal to the Fringe and the Teams ushered Farglen’s residents to safety. Rattigan split off and retrieved Phillandra’s journal. Lottie split off and got a plack from Walt’s statue in the statue graveyard. Molar and Walt helped rescue Vikary while Percy and Abeni got as many people to safety as possible. After a few minutes the Teams saw a woman completely wrapped in bloody bandages, wielding a massive steel claymore which was the cause of the petrification. Those outside the portal booked it inside before everything around them turned to stone and the portals closed.   Back in the Fringe, Walt took the inmates back to Block E before securing lodging for the refugees from Farglen. When he came back that evening, Borith Zela also entered the Block. Borith said that Walt was to be arrested and thrown in Block F. Molar swiped Walt’s keys and deactivated everyone’s collars for a moment. Everyone but Abeni attacked Borith but he was too quick and stunned them all before they could do anything. Borith then took Walt and Molar to Block F for solitary confinement.   That night Molar made a pact with the Raven Man. In return for placing a part of him in her eye, he would help her escape the Fringe. Sure enough, the next day the Revolutionaries attacked and the Raven Man opened Molar’s cell. Molar beat up Thema and helped Walt to escape. Walt used the living weapon features of the Fringe to make shortcuts to rescue Nurse Maddie and Talina before returning to Block E.   Meanwhile in Block E, Walt’s retainers smuggled in the inmates’ gear before all hell broke loose. The inmates barricaded themselves inside the block as Marguyle put a bounty on their heads. After a bit, Older Sister and the Revolutionaries came into the block to retrieve Trink. Trink refused to leave unless they could all leave so they were forced to wait.   When Walt, Maddie and Molar returned, Walt revealed the Fringe was a sentient battleship that could fly. He also revealed that he was always part of the Revolution. He used the soul of the Fringe to separate Block E from the rest of the Fringe and then flew it away to safety.   As they flew, Marg revealed himself from the shadows. He almost beat Walt to death before an epic fight with the Party. Lottie landed the fatal blow with an arrow to Marg’s heart. He fell through the Moon Door but revealed his true Balor form as he made one last attempt to drag Walt down with him. Rattigan sacrificed his rat swarms to finally push Marg through the Moon Door while saving Walt. Marg fell and exploded against the terrain far below.   The Fringe touched down on a deserted desert island somewhere in the Western Sea which is where the session ended for the night.
        TL;DR
Team 1 (minus Molar) popped into the village of Farglen just after completing their mission in Aurora. They quickly found Team 2 and Molar fighting against a large contingent of Miller’s thugs and mercenaries. The two teams from Block E fended off the thugs and mercenaries but more waves came in their place including Goblins and a powerful mage.   In the midst of the combat, the entire town heard loud trumpets sound in the distance followed by the appearance of a legion of Imperial soldiers. Walt said that meant the town had been marked for extermination and they had to get out of here post haste. He convinced Marguyle to open a portal back to the Fringe then Abeni and Persephone hurried as many residents of Farglen to safety. Rattigan and Lottie took off in the direction of the mill and retrieved Phillandra’s journal from a log. Lottie split off from Rattigan and went to the statue graveyard where she retrieved a plack which was on the statue of Walt before she returned to her friends. Walt and Molar also split off and rescued Vikary who was beaten too badly to walk on his own.   After a few moments the inmates of Block E saw a woman completely wrapped in bandages wielding a massive steel claymore who caused the petrification of all organic life. Molar and Percy tried to attack the woman but the blast from one of Molar’s improvised explosives just turned to stone and fell harmlessly in front of the woman. They watched as the petrification overtook the square they operated from as the last members of the Block and those they helped went through the portal just in time.   Back in the Arming Room of the Fringe, Walt said that he would find accommodations for the survivors of Farglen as he escorted the inmates back to Block E. He left the inmates in the Block for a while before returning with dinner.   Just after dinner, Borith Zela entered the Block and said that Walt was guilty of treason, conspiring with the Revolution and that he was to come with him. All hell broke loose as Molar (who had previously lifted Walt’s keys) allowed her friends to use their magic once again. Several people attempted to attack Borith but he was too fast and overrode Walt’s keys with a stun effect of his own. He took both Walt and Molar (as she had swiped the keys) to Block F for solitary confinement.   In solitary, Molar made a pact with the Raven Man where she allowed him to live in her eye for an indefinite amount of time in return for help in escaping the Fringe.   The next morning, just as breakfast was served, all Hells broke loose in the Fringe. The Revolutionaries succeeded in breaking into the Fringe. Warden Marguyle said that there would be a bounty on all members of the Revolution and all members of Block E. He then let all of the other prisoners loose to kill the Revolutionaries and the members of Block E.   In the Block, the inmates barricaded themselves inside. They previously convinced Kidder, Cy and Rolento to smuggle in their equipment with the daily brakfast. So the inmates of Block E had their gear as they fended off their fellow inmates. Eventually Older Sister flanked by Rick Lambert and Eric (the druid Revolutionary) burst through the frey. Older Sister said that they were here to retrieve Trink as he was now the Sovereign of the Dominion of Free Peoples; Older Sister also realized that her sister Ginger was there and she added her to the rescue list. However, Ginger and Trink refused to go unless all of their friends could go too. So a tense standoff formed where both sides refused to budge as the Revolutionaries tried to fend off hordes of armed inmates of the Fringe.   Elsewhere in the Fringe, the Raven Man helped Molar escape from her cell. She then beat block jailer Thema unconscious and released Walt before locking Thema in Walt’s cell and absconding with her keys.   Walt used his knowledge of the Fringe’s past as a living weapon to aid their passage amidst the chaos. He promised the Fringe ‘its price’ if it could help them. It produced several dynamic passageways which helped them retrieve first Nurse Maddie then Talina from their quarters. They then bumped into Dump who turned out to be an agent of Culestis tasked with Talina’s safety. So Talina went with Dump back to Culestis as Walt, Molar and Nurse Maddie navigated their way back to Block E.   After some time Walt, Maddie and Molar safely returned to Block E. They met up with Older Sister who revealed that Walt had been in the Revolution the whole time. Walt also said that the escape plan was to get the soul of the prison then for them all to leave in Block E as it detach then move away from the rest of the Fringe. With a jolt, Block E separated from the Fringe and began to drift away into the bright blue morning sky.   Although drifting away from the Fringe, they were not safe as Warden Marguyle appeared from the shadows. He used the collars to stun the former inmates then beat Walt senseless. However through a sleight of hand, Walt took Marg’s keys and freed the former inmates of Block E permanently from their collars. A massive fight ensued between Marg and the members of Block E. Abeni, Percy and Molar went down in the fight before Lottie landed the killing blow against Marg with an arrow through his heart.   Marg fell through the Moon Door and tried to take Walt with him. Lottie and Percy helped to save him through some quick use of Feather Fall and their webs. But then Marg reveled himself to be a Balor. He reached up with a firey hand to pull Walt down again but Rattigan’s rat swarms sacrificed themselves, aided with an arrow from Lottie, to push Marg through the Moon Door. They saw him explode against the countryside far below.   After flying for a few more minutes the Block descended on a desert island somewhere in the Western Sea which is where the session ended for the night.

    Detailed Notes

Ext. Farglen, Northern Vranic Empire, Vranic Empire, The Great Continent, Prime Material, Kurra - Continuous (About Midday, the same day as Session 9)
The majority of Team 1 popped into the center of Farglen to find a very different situation than when they left. The town seemed to be in chaos with what appeared to be bands of thugs fighting against Team 2 while the inhabitants of Farglen fled the violence in horror.   The remainder of Team 1 immediately entered the fray along side Molar and Team 2. Molar zipped around the street using Misty Step to surprise the thugs from behind. Rattigan dispatched his rat swarms to occupy two of the thugs while he took shots against them with his sling staff. Percy unleashed her signature Chaos Bolts against the thugs. Team 2 also did their part in their own ways.   One of the thugs yelled to call for backup and shortly after, more thugs including a necromancy wizard came from the streets behind and beside Team 1. The thugs got their attacks in against both Block E teams but not for serious damage. The necromancer wizard produced a vengeful spirit centered between the members of Team 1 which drew Abeni’s attention.   On their turn, Abeni cast Spirit Guardians but as this was their last 3rd level spell, some things happened. The spell manifested the guardians but then flickered and blipped out. Abeni’s eyes rolled back in their head and a blue light came from their eyes. A voice, not Abeni or Ekundayo’s, said “getting closer.” The voice cast Psychic Overload through Abeni targeting the vengeful spirit; the spell coursed through the wizard’s connection with the spirit effecting both him and Abeni. The two were stunned for a round, knocked prone and the wizard lost concentration on his spell which caused the vengeful spirit to dematerialize.   The battle raged onward. Lottie used the chaos of the battle to climb up a nearby building to gain a view over the battle. She shot an arrow which killed an enemy just as he was ready to cast a spell. Molar next cast Hexblade’s Curse on the most imposing thug still alive. She then cast Thunderwave on the thug which blasted him back and put him in really rough shape. Rattigan tried to finish off the thug with a shot from his sling staff but it snapped back, hitting Rattigan in the eye and blinded him for several seconds. Percy unleashed another Chaos Bolt which missed her original target but struck one of the other thugs, killing them. Trenk and Lannary continued to dispatch the thugs while Lan cast Lesser Restoration on Rattigan which ended his blindness. Two thugs came up to Abeni and began to beat them as the lay there stunned on the ground. Lottie saw what was going on and used her webs to entangle the two thugs who attacked Abeni. Walt took a swirling swing with his sword and dispatched the two thugs that Lottie entangled before they could escape.   The battle continue onward as Molar cast Eldritch Blast at the thugs but only hit on one of the three beams; the one that hit killed the goblin that it struck. Rattigan’s rat swarms took out two goblins while Rattigan himself dealt a thumping blow against one of the thugs with his sling staff. Percy tried to cast Firebolt but missed her target; she then used Quicken Spell to cast Spiritual Weapon on their rapier and took a slash against the still-prone wizard. Team 2 continued to mow through the thugs.   As the battle shifted more into Cell Block E’s favor, they heard a horn sound in the distance. It sounded three more times which Walt recognized as an extermination order against the town. All of the thugs began to book it out of town. Walt contacted Marguyle and demanded an immediate evacuation via portal.   In a few seconds, a portal opened near Walt that led to the Fringe. Teams 1 and 2 set about ushering as many people into the portal as possible to keep them from being exterminated. Percy used her Thomaturgy cantrip to make loud announcements to get everyone out of the town while Abeni used their Ring of Minor Illusions to crate illusory signage to further direct everyone into the portals.   Rattigan cast Locate Object to find Phillandra’s journal which pointed him in the direction of the Lumber Mill. So he and Lottie split from the main group and took off like a bats out of the Hells toward the Lumber Mill to find the journal.
Int/Ext. The Lumber Mill, Farglen - Continuously
Rattigan found the mill first and went in through the open front doors as people streamed out. Inside he saw a Tabaxi woman stuck in her harness as she was cutting a tree when everything went down. Rattigan used Zypher Strike to break the attachment point to the saw and also propell himself 30 feet closer to the location of the journal. Lottie entered just as that happened and helped the Tabaxi out of the harness and out of the building.   Rattigan continued on, into a part of the mill where green timbers were waiting to be stripped of their bark before being cut into planks. There was a very odd one with live moss and flowers growing out of it that immediately drew Rattigan’s attention. He reached into the moss and retrieved the journal. After dodging a few last hazards, he took off in the direction of his friends. He yelled to Lottie to get back to the portals but Lottie took off in the direction of the statues.
The Statues, near Farglen - Shortly Later
Lottie tried to find the part of the statue graveyard where Walt’s statue once was. It was not there, only an impression in the ground where it once was. She went over to the hole to investigate the area for a moment. She found lying in the dirt a bronze plack that was once on the statue. It was small enough for Lottie to take so she pocketed the plack and ran back toward her friends.
Ext. City Streets, Farglen - Concurrently
While Lottie and Rattigan did their thing, Walt and Molar split off to find Valkyre. They searched for a few minutes before they found him beaten and bloodied in an alleyway. They grabbed him and helped him limp back toward the portals.
Ext. Market Square, Farglen - Continuously
Percy, Clip and Abeni continued to help as many people as possible into the portal. Clip flitted around to see if there was anyone close by who needed more help. After a few minutes, Rattigan and Lottie returned to the group and helped usher people along. As they worked, Percy noticed a chill in the air then the smell of death.   The group in the square noticed that further down the road, a woman covered in bloody, puss-covered bandages from head to toe and carried a massive steel claymore on her back walked toward them. She said “Walter Vranic, tenth of your name, you and this town have been deemed unworthy.” She then drew her sword and all of the living material around her began to turn to stone.   Molar quickly fashioned an improvised explosive devise and hurled it at the Lich as Percy cast Fireball aimed at the devise. The Fireball connected with the horns and caused a massive explosion. However, the gouts of fire it produced turned to stone and fell harmlessly to the ground in front of the Lich.   As the Lich took steps forward, more of the town began to petrify. Walt grabbed Lottie and threw her through the portal to safety. The rest of the Block E crew grabbed the last people they could before going through the portal themselves. Abeni and Molar backed through the portal to see the last few stragglers petrify meer feet in front of them.
Int. The Arming Room, The Fringe, Near Throne - Continuous
Team 1 found themselves in the relative safety of the Arming and Equipping Room of the Fringe. They had rescued about nine tenths of the people in Farglen which filled up the room and the surrounding hallways. Walt commanded the Quartermaster to find lodgings for all of these people and to take the injured down to Nurse Maddie. He then escorted Teams 1 and 2 back to Block E.
Int. Block E, The Fringe - Shortly Later
After Walt brought his crew back to their quarters, he said that he had to talk to Marg about all of this and turned to leave. Molar went to hug Walt but discretely patted him down to find his key to the collars. Through the hug she learned that he kept the key in his left coat pocket along with most of his stuff. Walt was confused but didn’t catch on to what Molar was doing. He thanked her for the hug and left to find the Warden.   After Walt left, the two Block E teams tensely talked in the Arming Room. Molar scribbled a note to see the Raven Man immediately and threw it through the nearest Moon Door. The others talked about the implications of what such a powerful Lich could mean for the empire. Lanary was worried that it would follow them here to finish the job on the remaining residents of Farglen. The others thought that was a possibility and were prepared to fight it off it that were the case.   Lottie used some of his prisoner points to write a letter to her brother and used the downtime to craft it. As she worked on it in her cubby, she noticed a bit of paper which stuck out from Mei’s old mattress. It was a note addressed to her in Mei’s flowing handwriting. Mei apologized for leaving Lottie but she said she needed to see her daughters again. She said that “If I survive the jump, maybe I will see you again.” Mei said that she cared about Lottie like she was her fourth daughter and asked the Queen to watch over her. There was a long, blank space in the paper then a passage that said Lottie deserved to be free, Love Mei. Lottie was very suspicious of the long blank space in the middle of the page so she held it up to the nearest candle. Sure enough, the heat produced the missing lines of the letter which said: “The Fringe is a lie Lottie. Everything you’ve been told is a lie. Everything can change, I know it can. And I trust that you’ll find this and you’ll know this. The only person that you can trust outside of the walls of this block is Walt.”
Int. Block E, The Fringe - Shortly Later
Walt returned several hours later with dinner for the block. He conveyed the details of his conversation with Marg: that the Block’s presence in the extermination was incidental and that the extermination order would not follow them to the Fringe. Marg recommended that everyone forget what they saw while they were out on the mission and stressed that no one should ask questions about it in the future.   Molar went up to Walt and said that she needed to check him for petrification. With the deftest touch, she lifted Walt’s collar keys without him noticing. She was unintentionally aided by Lottie who at that moment came out of her cubby yelling that she had mail for Walt to send back to her cave in the Spires. He took the letter and put it in his pocked, unaware that his kees were now missing and promised to post it as soon a he could.   In that moment the portcullis opened to reveal Borith Zela flanked by Kidder and Rolento. Borith said that Walt was to come with him as soon as possible. Percy ran over to one of the Moon Doors and said that she was going to jump if Walt didn’t come there right now. Borith tried to used Heyman’s staff to stun all of them but Molar used Walt’s stolen keys to unlock all of their collars, rendering the stun useless. Percy cast Firebolt against Borith which hit but he somehow absorbed it using his Living Weapon runes. Lottie used the chaos to slip on her werewolf ring and earrings. Abeni was confused and conflict about what to do so they stepped between Lottie and Borith in the hopes of getting everyone to take a moment to calm down. Walt drew his gun and pointed it at Borith but before he could fire, Borith hit the ground with Heyman’s staff. Everyone, including Walt, froze from the effects of the stun spell even though their collars were partially deactivated.   Borith said that Walter was found guilty of conspiring with the Revolutionaries and committing treason against the Empire. As a result he was to be detained in Block F until further notice. Borith grabbed Walt by the coat and started to drag him to Block F. He also told the guards to grab Molar and bring her to Block F for the theft of the keys and the attempted breakout. Borith and his group left the Block stuck in their stunned positions as they presumably went to Block F.   After a few moments, Zilch and Grayson revealed that they were not targeted by the stun effect and were completely able to move. Percy told Zilch to quickly take Lottie’s earrings and ring off so that she would not stay a werewolf for all time. He got the earrings off without issue but the ring wouldn’t budge. So he bit Lottie’s finger off and slid the ring from the severed finger. This drew Kidder into the block who picked up Lottie and took her to the infirmary.   Ginger started to figure out how these developments changed the overall breakout plans. They tried to figure out how to spring Walt and Molar out of Block F while getting themselves out of the prison. Ginger also checked in on Abeni as the preceeding events had to be traumatic on them. They could barely speak and hadn’t come to terms with the implications of what this meant for Borith.   Lannary was also not petrified during the encounter asked Kidder to remove the stun effect on their friends as it amounted to torture. Kidder said that she wished she could but she did’t have the authority to do so. But a lightbulb clicked for Lannary; she realized that intense pain overrode the stun effect. She walked up to Rattigan and kicked him square in the balls. Rattigan screamed out in pain but the stun effect ended for him and he was able to move around freely. Team 2 went around hurting Team 1 enough to break them out of their stun effect.   Now freed, Rattigan apologized to Abeni as he was going to have to re-kill their boyfriend. Abeni said that was perfectly fine because that imposter was not their boyfriend and an affront to Borith’s memory. They gleefully said that they would help in any way that they could.   Talk then turned to plan for tomorrow. It seemed likely that the attack would come just before a shift change and that would be just before 8am. Rattigan said that he would request a training session just before the attack so that he would be close to the Arming Room and could therefore return to the block with everyone’s supplies.   Rattigan then went up to the three guards who were part of Walt’s unofficial retinue. He asked them if they like what was going on here. Kidder said that they didn’t but they had no choice. They were all convicted of crimes but chose to be a guard instead of jailed inside the Fringe. They know they could just as easily be in Rattigan’s situation but there was really nothing that could be done. Percy asked if they could bring them some supplies and their equipment from the room. Although it was a great personal risk, Kidder said that they would help in any way they could.
Int. Block F, The Fringe - Concurrently
Molar stood alone in her closet sized cell with the sounds of horrified screaming coming from the distance. She repeated “Raven Man” over and over again like a chant to draw him to her. A few moments later, the familiar vestige of a man dressed to the nines holding a top hat appeared in her cell. Molar offered information about Celeste, her heist and the creature which broke out to restore balance in return for help in breaking out of the Fringe. The Raven Man said that was not enough but he would allow it if Molar allowed him to travel along with her in her eye just as Thuline traveled in Percy’s. They agreed on it with a handshake; he then put his hand to Molar’s face and without any pain or a sound she felt a sensation like a contact lense being put in and then he said “there you go.” He said that he would be with her when she needed it and then bade her ado.   Thema opened the portal and taunted Molar a bit. But Molar turned the tables with some lude jokes about Walt that really got her goat. She was so frustrated that she slammed the portal shut and stormed off from the block.
Int. The Infirmary, The Fringe - Concurrently
Nurse Maddie took Lottie to an exam room so that she could reattach the severed finger. She gave Lottie a big lollypop as she examined the wound. Maddie reassured Lottie that there were plenty of potions which could regrow her missing digit like it was never gone in the first place.   As she worked, Maddie told Lottie that Walt was in dire trouble. Apparently Maddie had sources in the Fringe and they said that something specifically was going to go down with Walt and she needed to stop it. Lottie said that all she knew was that they took him to Block F. Maddie also said that Walt had a plan for when Older Sister attacked, that he would try to get to Marg’s Office and turn off everyone’s collars but it didn’t know how that would work if he was detained in Block F. As they spoke Lottie looked down to see that her finger was reattached and Maddie was already bandaging it up.   Maddie smiled and patted Lottie on the head before she went over to her desk and produced a wallet-sized leather satchel. She showed Lottie two scalpels and told Lottie to keep them in case she needed to protect Walt.   Maddie stopped short of explaining the scalpels when she noticed that Lottie’s hair was glowing. Lottie said that it probably meant that her brother was in trouble or about to do something very stupid. Maddie tucked the leather satchel into Lottie’s hair to keep it safe. She then escorted Lottie back to the Block so that she could get some rest.
Int. Block E, The Fringe - Continuous
Nurse Maddie let Lottie back into the block then returned to the Infirmary. Lottie walked up to her friends who were in mid conversation about how to pull off the jail break. Rattigan told Kidder that he wanted to use 300 of his 375 prisoner points to do a training session with the guards. Kidder didn’t think it was the best idea but Rattigan convinced her that it was more effort to argue with him than actually train him. So she opened the gate and turned to lead Rattigan to the training room. Seeing an opportunity, Lottie ran underneath Rattigan’s robes and clung to his body so that he could transport her out of the block.
Int. Hallways Between Block E and the Training Room, The Fringe - Shortly Later
Kidder escorted Rattigan (and secretly Lottie) through the hallways of the Fringe toward the training room. Lottie remained a secret until she sneezed, billowing out Rattigan’s cape and revealing herself to Cy and Kidder. They looked at each other and decided not to address the issue right there so they played along for a bit.
Int. Training Room Number 1, The Fringe - Continuous
As soon Cy closed the door to the training room, Kidder bent down and addressed Lottie, still trying to hide in Rattigan’s coat. She said that the Warden was very aware of the impending raid by the Revolutionaries and that the whole facility was on high alert. That means that anyone in the halls without specific reason would be annihilated by the arcane turrets. She said that if Lottie stepped a toe into the hallways without an escort and expressed permission she would be engulfed in Arcane Fire. She said that they need to train then get back to the Block and trust that their friends have a plan. Lottie and Rattigan understood and agreed to keep a low profile. They still trained with Cy and Kidder for the next hour and a half in preparation for the upcoming combat. When they were done, Kidder and Cy escorted them back to Block E for a rest.
Int. Block E, The Fringe - The Next Morning
Lottie spent the last night and into the next morning delicately cleaning and restoring the plack she recovered from Farglen. She finally revealed an inscription that said “He who came before saves us from so much. Praise all to Ilaruvar the sun, One of the Heroes of the Five.”   The rest of Block E awoke from a mostly restless and uneasy night. Rolento, Cy and Kidder wheeled the morning’s breakfast in on carts as they had always done. There was one large crate that didn’t typically come with the breakfast which the Block eyed with suspicion.   Just as the guards were opening up the crates and starting to serve the meal, several explosions rang out followed by sirens. All of the lights turned off and the block door slammed down.   As the gate shut, Marg came on the announcement system and addressed the whole Fringe. He said that Block E was locked down. Blocks A, B and C would have their restraints removed. The first person to bring him Older Sister’s head would get a full pardon. He said that all prisoners of Block E were in league with Older Sister and were enemies of the Fringe. Killing any of them or any lieutenants of Older Sister would earn a massive amount of prison points and a reduced sentence.   The Block freaked out for a moment as they were now the target of the entire Fringe. Kidder opened the large, suspicious crate to reveal all of the Block’s gear, stolen from the Arming Room. Although they couldn’t turn off their collars, it gave Block E somewhat of a fighting chance against their opponents.

Molar and Walt heard the muffled sounds of explosions and some announcements but couldn’t make out the words.   In Molar’s cell, a large black bird (not a Kinku or Raven) appeared. It pecked at the door twice and it swung open. She ran out into the hallway to see Thema also running toward Walt’s room but Thema didn’t notice her. Molar picked up a set of spare iron manacles and held them like an improvised set of brass knuckles.   Thema stopped at Walt’s door, took out her keys and began to find the right one. As she did that, Molar came up behind her and punched her in the back of the head. Thema hit the ground with a hollow thud. Molar moved Thema’s unconscious body out of the way, opened the door and told Walt that they needed to go right now.   Walt ran over to the large trunk at the front of the block. He opened a large chest and retrieved his gear including his keys. He ran back to Thema, drug her into his old cell then shut and locked the door. Molar grabbed a spare crossbow and 20 bolts from the chest as the two burst out of Block F.
Int. Hallways, The Fringe - Continuous
In the hallways there was complete pandemonium. It was hard to tell who were the prisoners, the guards or the Revolutionaries. They were all caught up in hand-to-hand fighting in the halls. It quickly became apparent to Walt that he wasn’t going to make it to where he needed to go without some special help.   Walt placed his hand against the nearest wall of the Fringe. He said that he would sacrifice whatever he needed to in order to get to the Infirmary. The wall opened up into a doorway which he opened to see Nurse Maddie on the other end. Walt grabbed her and pulled her through the portal to safety. Walt asked if she had the scalpels coated with neurotoxin but Maddie said she gave them to Lottie. The three began to stealthily move through the halls, avoiding as much of the fighting as possible as they made their way to Block E.

Walt, Molar and Maddie stepped through the portal to find the members of Block E ready for combat with the portcullis open. Two people flung down the stairs into the block, unconscious.   Into the block stepped Older Sister with Rick Lambert and Eric (her lieutenant) following closely behind her. Eric said that the asset was in this block. Older Sister and her enterage walked passed the members of Block E, past Walt and right up to Trink. She said “I am here to take you home, your majesty.” She said that Trink’s father, mother and several family members were all killed and that he was the new sovereign of the Dominion of Free Peoples. She said that they had to get him out of here right now if they were going to make it alive.   Trink asked how the rest of the Block was going to get out. Older Sister said that it wasn’t her problem and they would find their own way out. Older Sister wheeled around but stopped for a moment.   She stopped, wide-eyed as she looked at Ginger. She said “Ginger?” and Ginger replied “Andy?” Apparently Older Sister is Ginger’s actual older sister Andy. Older Sister said the new plan was to take Ginger with Trenk and the rest of the Revolutionaries out of there. Ginger said no and refused to move until Older Sister agreed to get all of her friends to safety.

Walt told Maddie and Molar that he knew a bit more about this place than most. He learned from Celeste that the ship was alive in a sense and that it used to be a warship. He said that the ship’s soul was still alive at the core of the prison.   They went through a few more passageways which led to Talina’s quarters. She was holding her ledger and cowered in the corner. Walt extended his hand and Maddie said “come with me if you want to live” which everyone thought was an odd choice of words. She took Walt’s hand and the four took off through the passageways once more.   The dynamic passageways led the four into a long hallway with some familiar prisoners. The Doctor from Block B (whom previously helped the party) seemingly led a group of the prisoners. He apologized to Walt as he pointed a rifle at him. Molar quickly said that she paid the price; suddenly the floor dropped several feet causing the opposing prisoners to fall.   However, the Doctor got his shot off but it bounced harmlessly off of a gigantic metal scorpion which burst from one of the walls of the prison. It was one of Dump’s constructs.   Dump said that he had been in the Fringe as an agent of Culestis the whole time. He was there to protect Talina and take her home. She was a little hesitant to go with Dump but Walt convinced her it would be the only way to see the kids that she helped once again. So long as they were going the same way, the two groups (Dump’s and Walt’s) agreed to help each other fend off the roving hordes until they parted.

Back in Block E, Trenk joined Ginger’s refusal to leave unless everyone in the block left. He said that they would have to knock him out and that knocking out a monarch would probably be a poor life choice. They heard commotion from just outside the block and Rick yell that they had to move along.

The group of five continued for some ways together. They fended off several attackers until they came to an intersection which forced them to part ways. Dump offered to take Nurse Maddie with him to safety in Culestis but she declined so that she could stay with Walt. Walt and Dump shook hands and wished each other well before they went their separate ways.   The trio of Walt, Maddie and Molar turned down the hallway which led to Block E to find it eerily empty. When they got closer to the portcullis and guard station, Rick greeted them. He remembered Molar from before and ushered them into the Block.
Int. Block E, The Fringe - Continuously
Molar ran past her friends and right up to Older Sister. She told Older Sister that Walt is useful to them and that he shouldn’t be immediately killed. Molar said that he was the spitting image of the Emperor and by examening Walt for weaknesses they could find the Emperor’s weaknesses. Older Sister wasn’t convinced but she didn’t kill walt on sight.   She took a few steps forward, paused for a second then pulled Walt in for a big hug. She said that she was sorry and that they were going to find Rubina. He lifted his shirt and showed the Block the mark of the Revolution branded into his skin. He said that it wasn’t a death mark but a sign that he was a member of the revolution the entire time.   He said that he had the soul of the Fringe in Block E and that he could use it to get everyone out safely. He told Molar to get her supplies and equipment from the crate as everyone had previously done. He said that he thought enough blood had been shed and that he would give his plan a try.   The whole room lit up in unfamiliar patterns (that we would know look like a circuit board) and there was a rumbling all around the Block. Walt said “take us away from this place” and everyone felt a jolt. Those close to the portcullis could see the hallway between Block E and the rest of the Fringe recede from view as Block E lifted away from the rest of the Fringe.   Just as Walt said everything was going to be ok, Marg stepped from the shadows of the Block and struck Walt in the face. Marg used his controls to stun all of the prisoners so they could not help Walt in the fight. Marg yelled that Walt could not take the Fringe from him because he was the Fringe. Older Sister ran up to Marg and struck him but he threw her against the wall which knocked her out. Marg punched Walt several more times until Walt bled profusely. Marg stopped for a moment to taunt Walt but Walt held up Marg’s keys and said Block E was now free as he deactivated their collars completely using Marg’s keys.   The moment the collars came off and the prisoners of Block E were free, several things happened in quick succession. Zilch’s body produced a flash of light as he transformed into his true form, a massive green dragon, before flying off into the morning sky. Grayson said to wait for him and he jumped out of the open side of the block. Marg said that Grayson was actually Iluvar the Gray Son (hince Grayson) and that Walt was actually a clone of him. Marg dropped Walt (who had lost consciousness) and faced the members of the Block as true combat began.   The members of Block E launched into combat with Marg. Rattigan struck first with his rat swarms then a decent melee attack against Marg which pushed him five feet away from Walt and towards the opening of the building. Abeni was next to act; they ran up to Walt and cast Spare the Dying on him. They propped him up against one of the walls so that he could rest easier then they cast Healing Word on him to give him 10 more health. Lottie threw one of her neurotoxin coated daggers at Marg which he didn’t see coming and it struck him for significant necrotic and piercing damage but he used a Legendary Resistance to resist the effects of the neurotoxin.   Marg produced two flaming axes in his hands. He said that before he was the warden, he was the executioner of the Fringe and these served him well. As he walked forward, there was a little shimmer and then there were two of him. He took one swing against Percy for a decent chunk of damage and another against one of Rattigan’s rat swarms for about half of its health. He then made for Abeni and took two swings against them; one missed but one hit for 26 damage which brought Abeni into danger territory.   Percy picked up the flow of combat just after Marg’s attack against Abeni. She cast Cold Spray which caught Marg and the damaged rat swarm in its cone. They both successfully dodged but took half damage and were blinded until the end of their next turn.   Molar then teleported behind the blinded Warden and attempted to wrap a grappling hook around his neck. As she tried to get it around his neck, he instinctively jerked forward which threw Molar forward into the toilet area of the Block.   Walt was steady enough to use the wall to help him return to his feet. He said that Marg would not take these people from him and drew his pistol. Walt’s shot rang true and dealt a decent amount of damage against Marg. Lannary then ran over and tried to attack the other version of Marg but it went through him. She then threw one of her daggers through the echo version of Marg at the real version which missed. Ginger took advantage of his distraction and blindness to cast Lightning Bolt which he somehow sensed and it only nicked him. Lan used Healing Word to help Abeni regain 10 health.   Rattigan struck next and landed a brace of blows against Marg. He did a decent amount of damage and set Marg off balance so that he stumbled back several feet. This pissed Marg off and he ran forward blindly. He swung twice at Trank, missing on the first swipe but landed for heavy damage on his second attempt. Abeni coated their machete with a potent poison and attempted to slash at Marg but missed.   Now sufficiently pissed off, Marg bashed his flaming axe against the ground which produced a gout of fire which sprayed out from him. It knocked a bunch of the Block E crew (including Percy and Abeni) down to 0 health. Percy was only down for a moment as she quickly regained consciousness. In retaliation for the devastating blow, Lottie slashed at Marg with a normal dagger for a bit of damage.   Molar got up to her feet and back into the fight. She took out her Spyglass of Fireballs and teleported just underneath Marg so that she was looking up at him. She then used it to cast Fireball right at his face knowing that it would also affect her. The gout of fire engulfed them both for a tremendous amount of damage which caused Marg to stagger backward.   Marg used his Second Wind ability to steady himself. He then used one of his legendary actions to make a fast slashing attack through his echo against his nearest foe but that missed.   Around that time, a pleasant voice came from the Block itself. It asked where it should go. There was little consensus among the members of Block E so the Block itself just said it would go where they needed to go.   Marg demanded that they go back to the Fringe but it only emboldened the members of the Block further. Ginger hit Marg with an Eldritch Blast to the face which staggered him again and pushed him five feet backward. Lan and Lannary were both down but successfully hung on as their friends fought onward. Walt tried to run around behind Marg and swing from behind but Marg was ready for this and Walt’s attack missed. Rattigan’s rats pounced on Marg and took hearty bites out of his skin and dealt their own poison damage to him. Abeni, also knocked down, held on to their vitality as combat swirled around them.   Seeing Walt in danger once more and ceasing on Marg’s distraction, Lottie took a shot with her bow which landed in Marg’s chest. Marg’s echo flickered and faded from what seemed to be a fatal wound. Marg refused to go down so easily and began flailing his axes all around him in wild, aggressive swings. His blows hit some of Rattigan’s rats and Molar as well but the blows were less deliberate and less damaging than before.   Finally, Walt jumped on Marg’s back and began stabbing him in the neck. Marg was unable to reach Walt but did land a blow against him with his axe as Walt continued to stab. Marg began to fall backward into one of the Moon Doors as Percy cast Flight on Walt. Marg’s body tumbled through the Moon Door.   Walt hovered peacefully above the Moon Door aided by Percy’s spell. Lottie used her webs to help pull him back to safe ground in the Fringe. Abeni continued to fight for their life but their determination to stay seemed to slip a little now that combat ended.   The encounter was not done. A fiery hand reached up from the Moon Door and grabbed Walt. It was Marg’s hand and revealed that his true form was a Balor. Rattigan sent all of his rats through the Moon Door to attack Marg’s face in order to break his grip on Walt. Lottie jumped up to the lip of the Moon Door and shot Marg in the face. That was enough for him to loose his grip on Walt and he fell down to the ground far below and landed in an explosion of fire.   While all of this was happening, Ginger ran over to Molar and stabilized her using some of her healing abilities. She also stabilized Abeni who was in fairly rough shape. The first thing that Abeni did when they regained consciousness was to cast Beacon of Hope which healed everyone in a 30 foot radius by 42 points.   With Marg gone, the members of Block E felt the Block itself shift again as it began to descend. The Block landed with a thud on what seemed like solid ground.
Ext. A Desert Island, Somewhere in the Western Sea - Continuous
The former inmates of Block E emerged on on a beach near the ocean of a desert island. Nearby there was a copse of tropical trees but no signs of civilization nearby. Abeni didn’t recognize the body of water but reckoned that they were somewhere off of the western coast of the continent. With their future uncertain but their freedom in hand, the former inmates of Block E set out to explore their new home which is where the session ended for the night.
