Ordo Vindicatores Sancti
The Ordo Vindicatores Sancti is a militant holy order devoted to Virelion, the Burning Sun — god of Divine Light, Judgment, and Holy Fire. Founded on an island east of the city Cynore in the world of Elanir, the Order serves as both crusaders and spiritual enforcers, sworn to eradicate all unnatural evil — demons, undead, cursed relics, and shadow-born heresies.
Though many of its members are fanatical warriors or clerics, the Order has also been known to train medics, scholars, and inquisitors — all bound by fire-forged oaths.
God of the Order: Virelion, the Burning Sun. Virelion is the divine embodiment of the cleansing flame. He represents holy fire, radiant judgment, and the scourging of evil. His followers believe that no shadow can exist in his presence and that the wicked must be burned until only purity remains.
Battle Invocation Chanted before battle, this invocation is both prayer and weapon:
Sol ardens, flamma iustitiae, per gladium et ignem, terram a tenebris munda! Inimicus ardeat, animae nostrae purae maneant (“Burning sun, flame of justice,Through sword and fire, cleanse the land of darkness!Let the enemy burn, our souls remain pure.”)
The Trial of Saint Drathion Saint Drathion, now revered, was once condemned by his own superiors for “extreme purification methods,” including burning suspected heretics before trials. He was exonerated only after his flaming sword glowed in holy radiance in the presence of undead—posthumously.
The Cinder Conspiracy A faction within the Order, known as Cinerati, was exposed attempting to manipulate prophecy scrolls to justify a holy war against a rival faith. Their leader was “cleansed.” The rest... quietly reassigned.
The Silence of Cynore In 1031, in the eastern district of Cynore, a young girl named Seraphiel began speaking in tongues of searing fire—words that scorched parchment and cracked mirrors. Clerics confirmed the impossible: she was a true prophet of Virelion, channeling his divine will directly. “The sun burns dim when the Order dims in faith. Fan the flame. Cleanse again. The Second Dawn must rise, or all shall fall into ash.” The child called for greater fervor, unrelenting holy war, and purity by fire—not only against necromancers and demons, but against all lukewarm faith, corruption within the clergy, and even kingdoms that once stood as allies. Her parents, frightened by her divine outbursts, begged the Order to leave her be. They were told gently: “The Flame claims what it wills.” Seraphiel was “recruited” into the Ordo Vindicatores Sancti that night. Her family was offered a sealed letter of thanks, a modest pension, and then silenced. The district was soon evacuated and fire-cleansed, allegedly due to “plague risk.” Seraphiel now resides within the Sanctum Ignis, a hidden chamber said to be “closer to Virelion than the sun itself.” She has not been seen since. Some within the Order call her The Herald of the Second Dawn. Others whisper that the girl no longer speaks at all—because Virelion speaks directly through her.

Trivia
Members undergo ritual branding with a symbol of Virelion upon initiation. The Emberfield Massacre In Year 917, the Order burned the village of Emberfield to the ground to root out a lone necromancer. The necromancer was never found. Hundreds of innocents perished.
