Beliefs
Sand was the first element created in the universe, and from sand everything else was made. It is commonly believed mixtures of sand and fire can create anything imaginable, and the gods constantly do this to suit their needs. The particles which make up "sand" is the ultimate metaphor and building block of the universe. The endless deserts are the realm of the gods, and the Dresnids are the chosen people because they too reside there. The Pantheon of Sand is a straightforward religion where people worship the gods for their needs. New gods seem to pop up each day, but those listed above are consistent.Founding
No one knows when this religion was founded, and it is believed to pre-date modern cultures. Those who follow the Pantheon of Sand care not for its founding, believing the gods themselves are simply eternal and this religion is a natural flow of their influence.History
The Pantheon of Sand is based in the Dresnid Desert on the southern continent of Barakon. The Pantheon of Sand differs between each Dresnid tribe for it is their nature to be nomadic and isolated. The pantheon has not been a driving force between Dresnid invasions. In fact, the Daahken Dresnids who invaded the Morosian Empire worshipped a monotheistic religion known as Ilueism. The founding of Ilueism in the 700s AR triggered a rift amongst the Dresnid tribes, and divided their desert realm in half. To this day, the religion remains waning in the face of Iluesim and even the Makan Pantheon.Enforcement
Local shamans and witches are the only enforcement of this pantheon who do so through communal peer pressure and ritual sacrifices as an act of intimidation. Shamans and witches are the highest status and afforded the most privileges until it comes to war, at which point the chief and his lieutenants are the ultimate authority.
