Neuvirtmyre ((New-vurt-my-er))
Editing Notes: New Yharnam was one of many to quickly stray from the Vrellezi Council's influence once Bytopia fell to the Vilebloods in 1712. While political talks have nearly lost relevance between the various settlements, with each simply attempting to survive each blighted day as it may come, New Yharnam is one of the more influential given the state of modern day within Vrellez. Home to the Zhunstatt Guild, New Yharnam is known for and wildly adept at manufacturing. Factories, firearms, explosives and transportation, New Yharnam prides itself on it's efficiency. Run by the selfsame Zhunstatt Guild is Bastwie University, a rival to Byrgenwerth Academy despite often working together, especially in days before the fall of Bytopia.
Layers of the Smokey City
New Yharnam is the second largest still-standing city in Vrellez, second only to Weluyn, it is lauded as the home for the brightest minds in the development of non-magical technology. Housing a little over half a million people, nearly all of which are human as extraplanar races are treated infamously terribly within the Smokey City's walls due in large part to the city's governing power, The Scarlet Ordinance. Aside from the general populace who carry out their daily lives sequestered from the dangers that lay beyond the walls, many seek to arrive in New Yharnam for its highly esteemed colleges, academies and entrepreneurial opportunities. Craftsmen, engineers, chemists and artists find a vast and competitive market for their professional pursuits while enjoying the city's protections from the bloody dangers that roam the land. It's this capitalistic foundation that grants the smokey city its nickname, as the active factories and workshops billow smoke and soot throughout the lowest of the lower districts. Despite its heralded status, due to the infancy of non-magical technology and their industrial practices, the societal standard for working hours and wages are nearly entirely unregulated, shifting wildly depending on the employer. This brutal work ethic blended with Vrellezi people's gruesome struggles after The Twilight War make for a grim atmosphere in a vibrant, bustling city.Founding Ideals
Districts
Sitting on an elevation just beyond the Shrouded Holt in the western regions of the Marrowlands, southwest of a village known as Bristol lays New Yharnam. Due to its basis being put in place for industrial growth, the city's infrastructure reflects that, with the lower regions being designed primarily for physical work and practical use, only to be muddied with housing due to sudden over population with the fall of Bytopia forcing sudden, unprepared expansion. The city began to expand upward as the elevation into which it was built made outward buildout far more difficult. This resulted in the development of the smokey city's fragmented sectors known as Quartals. The city is made of the following Quartals:
- Luka's Landing (Entrance Quartal)
- Cobblestone Ward (Commercial / Entertainment Quartal)
- The Overcast (General Quartal)
- Steel Ward (Industrial Quartal)
- Charnel Spires (Graveyard Quartal)
- The Coals (Deep Slums)
- Silver Wings (Wealthy Quartal)
- Black Vein Lake (Lakeside Quartal)

History
Nearly a century after the death of The Lady of Blood, Elizabeth Yharnam, the city of New Yharnam was built in a fashion echoing that of the old city of its namesake. Founded by the noble house of Crowley, the city's local laws and traditions were heavily influenced after that of The Mad Queen's, despite their higher rule being under control of the Vrellezi Council. It is through The Scarlet Ordinance's influence, a faction that spawned within The Smokey City's walls, that faith in the tenants of The Blood Court vastly grew among the commonfolk once more, though due to their ruling party, much of The Ordinance (and similar groups to spawn off of the same ideals,) took shape as an anarchic syndicate of sorts, seeking to reap the harvest once planted by Queen Elizabeth Yharnam long ago.
In 1712 PS, the civilizations of Vrellez lost The Twilight War. The skies darkened and the land was poisoned by an unknown corruption, color began to seep away as life began to rot all across the Great Core. Marking the people's calamitous loss against the ravenous hunger of their terrible invaders, creatures dubbed as "Vilebloods" was the fall of the capital city, Bytopia. Having been overrun by Vilebloods, The Vrellezi Council fell silent. It was in this silence, that the carefully crafted web of political relations began to fray and eventually snap all throughout Vrellez. With each settlement that survived the apocalyptic changes brought about in The Twilight War being forced to take charge individually, no longer united under a single banner. New Yharnam dared not waste this opportunity, updating their laws in accordance to the rapidly expanding influence The Scarlet Ordinance had been gaining throughout the years since the city's founding. After months of growing tension, events spiraled into a revolution of independence led by the Crowley house which cost many their positions of power and even the lives of those far less fortunate.
After having established themselves as a great power after the drastic developments, New Yharnam's influence quickly spread to the nearest settlements, providing direct protection by means of The Scarlet Ordinance, who saw their fair share of changes under the new rule. Soon, the villages of Bristol, Dublham, Sidmuth and Colysbrough would open up trade with The Smokey City and New Yharnam would grow to be the second largest still-standing settlement in Vrellez. Yet that was not the end of the city's renowned achievements, as they would proceed to be lauded as the home to the most innovative non-magical technology on the Great Core.
