The staircase between the planes is conjectured by the Alchemists. Experiments are made and as a result extralanar entities become aware of Korun.

The experiments the Alchemists designed to test if such thing as the staircase return positive but among them there are now many more pairs of eyes fixed on Korun. Evil deity Volco especially fascinated but the scientific progress of the world now wants to claim it.
