Lord Baelons Clergy

Mythology & Lore

It is believed that this world was created by Lord Baelon for him to live in. There are many stories of how he nurtured the world into existence that the clergy repeats as hymns to his glory. The most famus one is that of Annalin, the girl who stole a papyr.

And the day came where the heat gleaming onto the librady windows became unbearable. And the light that nurtured life brought a fire uppon the sacred place of knowledge, for it was not made by knowledge but by pride. And this pride brought destruction. But Lord baelon saw the anguish and the books burning and the day before he blessed a litle girl to find the curage and steal the papyr that contained the cure for her fathers illnes. An though the girl had stolen from a sacred place she was blessed and became a wise woman. She cured many in her life and always offered help to the weak and troubled. In her lifetime she gatherd knowledge and became Lord Baelons Favoured Soul.Her name was Annalin and she bulid in her late age another Sacred Library. But she had grown wise and so she build it near the great lake. And for that the mortal paper survined the great droughts. And uppon the paper the writen words lord baelons voice speaks to us and we live under his hand.

Divine Origins

Lord baelons clergy came to be naturaly as the faith in His name grew larger in the peacefull times. For a very long time Lord Baelons clergy was so large that in every viladge you would find faithfull members herding animals and cutting wood. For a time Lord Baelon blessed the land and his people and that brough glory to his name. The first to speak his name was Kumo the Wise as he spoken to him in a vision. Kumo lived in the currius hills in the east and after the vision he founded the city of Theogonia wich is still considered the most sacred place in Korun.

Tenets of Faith

The hymn to faith as part of the morning prayer:

Thy wisdom and Thy might appear, Eternal God, through every year; From day to day, from hour to hour, Thy works reveal self-ordered power. We worship Thee whose will hath laid Thy sovereign rule on all things made; The faithful stars, the fruitful earth, Obey Thy laws that gave them birth. Yet Thou canst make a marvel shine Amid these mighty laws of Thine; As when Thy servant Moses came And saw the bush with Thee aflame. We turn aside and tread the ways That lead through wonder up to praise; Wherever Thou by man art found The homely earth is holy ground. If Thou hast formed us out of dust Through ages long, in Thee we trust; O grant us in our souls to see The living flame that comes from Thee.

Worship

From the olf times there are large temples and churces still standing in most places. New towns however might only have a small srine. Clerics pray to Lord Baelon at dawn there are several traditions of religius nature in the year. In those evets, a larger amount of people takes place as they are also a part of tradition and generaly fun to attend. The town of Falcrest is very famus for such occations. Most of the faithfull feel the need to visit the city of Theogonia at least one time in their lives and there is a large caravan full of pilgrms that does so every year. The caravan starts prom pitax and rosses from Kuatsa. Smaller caravans from Luania and other citiyes join in and even some ships from Fort Rognal.

Priesthood

Being a priest of Lord Baelon is now passed down from master to aprentice. Some have magical powers and some not but they all for now wander around trying to help where they see their lords absence to torture te people. Most Clergymen in their travels eventualy find someone with the same set of power that being magical or not and if the fate has it they guide them to the path of Knowldge and Light.

Granted Divine Powers

Although it Lord Baelons absence is noted in the realm most of his priests one way or antother have magical powers. The most comon are cleric powers but there have been occasions where a priest was a mage or afavoured soul. Some holy knights also exist lathgou his teachings make the art of war a very rare path for the faithfull.
