The Radiant Baraki Kingdom

The Radiant Baraki Kingdom is a small kingdom in the north western part of the Orphan Sea region. It extends along the Pem Mamanda river from the eastern foothills of the Ugor Uhar to the western shore of the Orphan Sea. The kingdom is ruled by a dwarven king but also includes a large elven and human population. Baraki is the administrative language, however the elves commonly speak Txi (their traditional language) among themselves while the humans of Yasa speak a variant of Wáláme (this variant is colloquially referred to as Yasa or Yasame). Many people in the kingdom also speak Norof, the lingua franca of the Orphan Sea region.   The Kingdom is divided into three regions: the foothills, dominated by the Dwarven city of Ruk; the riverland, dominated by elves; and the port city of Yasa, dominated by humans.

Ruk: Ruk is a dwarven city built around a spring in the otherwise desert foothills east of the Ugor Uhar. The spring is a large crack in the stone of the mountains from which a river rushes forth to flow down to the Orphan Sea to the east. In the second age, the spring was a center of worship, and the cliff face around it was carved into the shape of elephant's head with the aperture forming the elephant's mouth. After the city's conversion to Habor, worship moved to the city's newly erected sun spires; however, the elephant head remains. The city sits next to the Wana salt mining complex which supplies it with its primary export. The Baraki king holds court from the keep of Ruk which overlooks the city from the top of the cliff. A well in the keep provides it with fresh water from the river before it emerges from the elephant.

The banks of the river are lined with fields worked by elven farmers. Small hamlets with minimal services such as blacksmith, cooper, and general store can be found along the highway.   The third region is the port city of Yasa. This human dominated city sits at the mouth of the river and ships salt from Ruk to the other cities of the Orphan Sea. The city is ruled by the lord mayor, a dwarf. And the constabulary and other senior officials are all dwarfs.
