Kala
(a.k.a. The Pale Moon, The Black Moon, the Secret Moon, the Witches' Moon, the Hidden Moon)
The Hidden Moon: Kala is the third moon of Koru. Unlike Sahr and Leştana, Kala is not normally visible to Koruani. The moon has an albedo of almost zero, making it almost imperceptible when viewed through conventional sight. When viewed from the Otherworld, however, Kala can clearly be seen as a pale, luminous sphere. As a result, Kala is variously known as the Secret Moon, the Hidden Moon, the Black Moon, the Pale Moon, and the Witches' Moon. This last epithet is related to Kala's perceived role as the goddess of witchcraft. This title is purely honorific as she is largely disinterested in the lives of mortals does not grant any favors, whether the supplicant be a witch or no. There are, however, a group of plants called Kalalids which only bloom at night when Kala is in the sky. These plants draw their energy from her, and witches use them to create powerful potions and unguents.
