Elf
Elves were, in many areas, the dominant species prior to the Year of Dark Sun.
Stats
Nimble: Elves are inherently graceful and start with d6 Agility, with a maximum of d12+1. Elven Senses (+2):+2 to notice checks involving sound. Elves can make a notice check in complete darkness to use echo location provided either they or their target are producing sound. The +2 bonus (and its concomitant echo-location) do not function in extremely noisy conditions. Penalties for dim or dark lighting are halved due to their extreme pupil dilation. Willowy (-4): -1 to toughness, -2 to strength rolls. Light Step (+2): May cross difficult ground with no movement penalty. Tree Affinity: Being around trees or other large plants energizes elves. They need only half the normal amount of sleep when resting next to a tree. When sleeping next to a tree, elves may also get impressions and images from its past.Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves tend to be thin and willowy, with long torsos and narrow hips. They are not as physically robust as dwarves, orks, or humans, but are more nimble. Their skin can contain the same range of melanin levels as humans and dwarves giving them a variety of skin tones. Their pupils can dilate more than humans or dwarves improving their night vision. They lack a tapetum lucidum, however.
Growth Rate & Stages
Like other humanoids, elves have a gestation period of around nine months, generally reach sexual maturity in their early to mid teens, and tend to live five to eight decades if war or pestilence doesn't claim them first.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Elves have excellent hearing and can use a sort of rudimentary echo location to navigate in the dark. Despite being nocturnal, elven night vision is only a somewhat better than that of humans. The dilatory range of their pupils allows them to see somewhat well in low light, but they cannot see nearly as well in the dark as orks. Their overall visual acuity is much higher than orks, however, and they can see the same range of colors as humans. Elves have a strong affinity for plants and find their presence soothing.
