Dwarf
Dwarves appear to be short, stocky humans, but in fact are a separate species with its own biology. They have a strong affinity for rock and metal and can pick up impressions of the past through them. Their shamans are unrivaled in their ability to perceive and treat with earth spirits. Dwarven civilizations often boast numerous master miners and smiths among their number. Their love of metals and craftwork has led some surface dwarves to the mercantile trades.
Due to their connection to the rocks of the earth, dwarves are most commonly found living in or under mountain ranges. When they are found elsewhere, it is often because they have been driven out, as with the Kabarati of Empire of Eleyha.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Adult dwarves usually stand between 1.15 and 1.35 meters in height. They have dense, strong bones and muscles and generally weigh at least 70 kg. As a result of their density, they are unable to swim or float without assistance.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Despite often living underground, dwarves cannot see in the dark and their subterranean cities are well lit. Dwarves have excellent color vision and can see into the UV spectrum allowing them to perceive colors that other species cannot.
By touching stone or metal, a dwarf can perceive impressions of past events at that location.
