Daraşai Dominion

The Daraşai Dominion has historically been the largest nation on Koru and due to its subterranean nature, it has remained more or less unscathed by the dark age ravaging the surface. It is a massive, regimented empire stretching for thousands of kilometers beneath Niru and Thovan. The Daraşai Dominion is ruled by the Dreatş, also known as Fire Elves, but counts hordes of conquered goblins, dwarves, and gremlins among its lower classes. The Dominion has a racially based militaristic hierarchy with the elves as the rulers and warriors, while the other races are the laborers, merchants, craftspeople, and when necessary, are drafted as cannon fodder. The Dominion spends much of its time warring against the Drakkai of the Innerworld and the unconquered goblin and dwarven kingdoms of the Underworld.   According to legend, the Dreatş were once Neruan but long ago lost a civil war and fled underground. Regardless of the legend's veracity, to this day there is a lasting animosity between the Neruan and their patron goddess, Erué, and the Dreatş and their patron god, Tşurraksekun. While Tşurraksekun is the patron deity of the Empire, many other gods are worshiped as well (worship of Erué and Namaieth is banned, however, and worship of Idr is nonexistent as the sun has no presence in the Underworld.   Like Eleiha, the Daraşai Dominion has an extremely advanced understanding of sorcery, which it uses to administrate its colossal territory. There are two primary modes of magical transportation in the empire: Portals and Veins. The portals are magical gateways that teleport anyone entering to another portal somewhere in the Dominion. Veins are the rivers of magma flowing through the Underworld. The Dreatx use magical submersibles to phase into the magma and flow along the vein at speeds exceeding a hundred 150 kilometers per hour. As such, magma veins serve as major transportation vectors for the empire, and its population centers cluster accordingly.
