Beastmarked
Ever since the sundering of the Pantheon, all manner of spiritual phenomena have been on the rise. One such phenomenon is the rise of the Beastmarked: those born with the mark of the beast, a paw or talon shaped birthmark somewhere on their bodies. These individuals are bound to a beast spirit, which follows them from the Otherworld. Beginning sometime during adolescence, on a night when all three moons are full, the beastmarked experience their first shift: their beast spirits cross over and possess their bodies, warping them into physical beasts while the lunar alignment lasts.
After the first shift, subsequent shifts occur when only one of the moons are full. When Sahr is full, their beast forms are driven to single-mindedly pursue some goal for which they feel passion in their normal life. When Leştana is full, they are nearly mindless, driven only by primal urges. When Kala is full they possess full control of their faculties.
In time, some beastmarked learn to control their beasts, even learning to shift without a full moon. Those who cannot usually find their lives upended by the actions of their beasts and end up driven into the wilds, imprisoned, or lynched.
