The Saints of Fate (less Lâinus) return to Calpi and are detained in the investigation surrounding Lâinus's assassination. Eventually, Tola Eppova Qulia Ativia frees them, commands Ruben Brand to accompany her and departs. The Saints decide to take the advice of Giccabul Ubpa, Commander of the First Legion of the Praetorian Guard, so they teleport away to Lady Lakri's tower in Khāghā.
