Omaran Kestrinthrexiann
Custodian of Winter (a.k.a. Last of the Verdant Sentinels)
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Appearance: Omaran is an older elf, still lithe and fit of body, but showing somewhat the march of time. His face shows crows feet around the eyes, laugh lines around the mouth and small furrows on the brow. His hair is the color of leaves in late autumn and his eyes ice blue with golden flecks in them. He wears wooden armor that has been lacquered and reinforced with resin and bone. He carries a wooden shield and spear. There is a swirling symbol on the shield and upon an amulet around his neck. He has a tome strapped in to a holster in the small of his back above some map cases and a small bedroll. These seem to be his only belongings, aside from a large sword that is slung almost forgotten across his back.
He joined the Saints of Fate, learning of the Grandmother of Woe's movement in the world. He contracted lycanthropy, though he learned to control it. During a fight in Avul Harbor with some devils, he miscalculated and was struck down.
Omaran was the last Warder of the Order of the Verdant Sentinels. As such his title is Custodian of Winter, as it was his task to care for the lore, history and Tower of the Watchers, until such time as there was a calling for the Skogsalver to again fill the ranks of the Sentinels. His was the Final Watch until such time as he should be called to pass on the knowledge he carried and then lay down arms and end his watch, so others may take up their mantles and hold the realm of mortals against the dragons, fiends and titans that may plague the Folk of land. Seen as the doom sayings of an old fool by those who happened upon his demesne, he was derided, and denigrated by the “younger” generations of Skogsalver and viewed as an outright myth by of the peoples who lived throughout the Eyn Confederacy.
Among the Lysaelfen, the Verdant Sentinels, and the Custodian of Winter specifically are invoked almost as the bogeyman, a dread avenger come to punish wicked and misbehaved children. However, Omaran had seen portents both terrestrial and celestial in recent events that called him from his Watch and gave him motivation to join the world and lend his aid to the good peoples to prepare them for End of the Long Watch, and rally those to the Jade Banner of the Watch to defend the realms of mortals and begin a new Watch. He knew his watch would soon end and the time would come to begin his rest. But he did not understand how short his time truly was. He believed the time had come to cease observing and act. Perhaps, for him, that time had come and gone....
