Session 62: The Mountains Bow. The Waters Give Way.

General Summary

Anya quietly heads out to the garden and sits with the great Camphor tree, reaching out to the old emperor seeking guidance. She asks her questions and thanks the “grandfather” then returns to the room a couple hours later.
On her return, she finds Sikander has snuck out and left a poorly disguised pillow dwarf in his place, with a face crudely drawn on it. Scouring the grounds, she finds his trail disappearing at the edge of the property with a teleportation spell.
Returning to the room, Anya proceeds to lose her temper with the group, asking how none of them noticed Sikander had slipped away and insisting they go after him.
(Sending stones back and forth between the siblings:
Anya: "Hanno, where in the seven hells have you gone? I was gone for two hours, and you need more rest than I. Need any help?"
Sikander: "Gurble Swich Blub Vampire Gurble Gurble Swish Blub Blub.")
The discussion continues with Silas attempting to calm Anya down when a bright light shines and Offa the White appears to the surprise of everyone, prompting hugs all around as they are overjoyed to see their friend returned to them. Selle scoops up the pillow Sikander as they work through whether it is worth teleporting to the Foxes for help. Deciding to speak to the fox statue, Silas connects with a voice and remembers it is A’flora then hands it to Anya. She asks how Sikander is, and Anya explains their predicament with his disappearance and her fears he is off trying to sneak into the camp single handedly. Asking where A’flora is, she shares it is autumn there and peaceful and that she may be able to assist if they take the statue to the Foxes. Recognizing they do not have time, discussion shifts to collecting the Gundam as another option.
Suddenly, Sikander reappears, nearly landing on Selle and attempts to fall back into place and pretends to wake up with everyone around him. Anya lays into him with a smack on the back of the head before he explains he made a deal with Lord Valduct that Sikander would help eliminate a couple vampires in return for the vampires leaving, taking the golems with them. One was successfully taken back to the ship while the other is commandeered by the samurai.
Chiyome reports there are several street defenses setup, especially around the Golden Gai along with many deserters heading out to the camp.
Deciding the best course of action is to strike at the camp, Anya shifts into the bronze dragon wyrmling while Clover summons three owls. They take off Silas and Selle on one owl, Offa and Sikander on the second, Clover and Tal on the third, and Samyra riding Anya.
As they soar over Edo, the various sights of their exploits since arriving are visible, including the monastery, The Golden Gai, the sumo stadium, and many others.
Cresting the hills, it takes a moment to decide where to land and they are spotted. They get out of the air and are hidden momentarily and settle on working they’re to the center from the outside. Selle sets off an earthquake and Samyra sends a sickening radiance out destroying many soldiers. Clover summons her owls and moves out to go after the soldiers. Anya conjures her bears and sends them ahead of her while Silas bolts toward camp disguised as a soldier shouting about bears.
Then the golem shoots at the party, dealing massive damage to everyone, knocking Tal and Selle unconscious and severally wounding the rest. Sikander runs away from the group, shouting and drawing many of the samurai his way while Clover fires off her badass arrows. Samyra blasts some of the samurai surrounding Sikander, giving Anya a chance to heal Sikander as she bolts to save Tal.
Sikander and Wibbles are completely in tune as the dwarf critically connects with those around him FOUR TIMES, allowing him to run for the Daimyo and face off with two very tough samurai.
The soldiers volley more arrows trying to hold the others away from the camp. Samyra blasts the soldiers again while Clover’s owls swoop in and attack various soldiers, nearly going after Silas in disguise. Clover also continues her own barrage on the troops around Sikander to give him breathing room.
Offa casts a circle of death on several samurai and continues toward the camp himself. Tal wakes and Anya heals Selle, Tal, Clover, Samyra, and herself in a desperate attempt to keep them alive.
Sneaking past the gate, Silas takes out the guard and finds Yoko Ono in a tent with her son as a commotion of Sikander taking on the Samurai guarding the daimyo. They return the swings with their own and nearly take him down. Samyra attacks the golem after blinding it, nearly putting it out of commission while Clover volleys arrows and goes after Lord Hideyoshi Tadao and kills him.
Back in the tent, Silas greets Yoko Ono and watches, and she commits seppuku, leaving her son behind watching. Recognizing the dangers of allowing the boy to live, Silas gently ends the boy and shifts his disguise to an engineer, slipping away.
As the group gathers, Hideyoshi Genma holds up his hands, stating he isn’t his father and just wants to collect his things. Sikander allows him to take everything but his sword. Genma agrees and collects the ring and seashell necklace. As he does, Genma blows on the seashell, summoning the Godzilla creature.
