Session 61: We Prepare for War

Shojo continues taunting the group, including sending Anya to the ceiling as she stands over Sikander. He explains the puzzle of the barrels to find the young emperor and throws out random sayings and starts randomly bringing in various monsters for them to possibly fight when he accidentally summons the Queen of the Foxes, who is very irritated, and then finally Griselda. The party continues to struggle with solving the puzzle when Shojo continues his fun turning Anya into a dwarf and Sikander into a Fabio elf. Pleased with himself and how they are behaving themselves, Shojo offers to answer three questions and tell the truth when he does. (Prompting Anya to dive on her brother and cover his mouth). He reminds them that his life is Sake and that they may look anywhere for clues. A barrel explodes in Selle's face and fills the room with black smoke. Once it clears, two massive bone creatures appear. Everyone but Anya and Sikander gets an attack, Anya using hers to free Sikander from the webbing with the warning not to make her regret doing so. The next round of attacks, one of the creatures sets off an effect that forces everyone to strike the nearest random creature. The party struggles to connect, although Selle does some serious damage with one of his spells, causing one to dissipate as he removes the water from it. Seeing the difficulty they were having with the fight, Sikander, with Silas’s help, brews Shojo a special dwarven sake, which pleases him greatly. He dispels the remaining creature while the others finally locate the emperor…as sake. They quickly add the ingredients needed to make the Camphor sake and Shojo claps, causing the young emperor to reconstitute and a large chest to appear with: - A light mace, +3 - Oil of Flame arrow (Clover graps - Two potions of barkskin - 2400 platinum worth of Nyongo gold - Crystal Sake cup Sikander also receives a gourd and it has unending dry sake and Silas is gifted a beautiful sackpip.
  Gathering the emperor, they put a cloak on him and get him back into town, with the sheriff’s men quietly following as they get closer. The guard requires some bribes and convincing as they enter and up in the office find Yoko Ono with the sheriff. Refusing to hand the emperor over, she and her samurai storm out. Anya changes into a raven and follows Yoko Ono then heads for the palace. Finding his mother organizing her soldiers, Anya lands and explains the situation, learning of the coming assault. She promises the help of herself and hopefully her friends and the safety of the emperor, then flies off again. Finding the others, she explains and suggests they take him to Akira Ozawa for safe keeping. Once he is settled, they settle head for the palace and settle in for the night to gather intel and prepare. There are evening shenanigans and trips unbeknownst to most of the party that ensue….
