Session 22: A Pirate's End Report

General Summary

The party, while separated, managed to take out the God Eaters, but not without losses and close calls. Many of Hugert’s pirates lay dead, Sikander nearly succumbing to his own wounds after becoming a dwarven torpedo, and Hugert himself fighting a different kind of virus eating the flesh. He tells the Anya about healing potions they are to take, then looks at Harlock, saying, “Harlock - you know my wish.”
The young man agreed to do as his father wished, and they shared few more words before the pirate passed. He then stood, taking his father’s sword and claiming the ship as his own, then looked to the party for support.
Lamime approached, kissed his cheek, then slapped him and claimed the ship and demanded they all leave, and to take Harlock with them.
Startled at the shift, Anya reached out, and Lamime told the elf she was protecting Harlock from becoming his father and being destroyed in the process.
Understanding the sacrifices being made, Anya supported Lamime even as she announced her divorce from and shunning of Tochiro.
They all quickly left with Fedders, and were given the potions, a leather case, and a massive chest containing:
2900gp, 50pp, various valuables, artwork, ivory, brass mugs worth 250gp
Potion of waterbreathing
Sketchbook - child drawings done by Harlock
• Start with normal kid stuff - space battles
• Mature - drawings of artifacts; some ancient dwarvish devices
• Collection of interesting artifacts
The chest is worth 200gp or secure holding
Once they were back aboard their ship, Rayne called for a meeting to discuss tactics, working together, and being less foolish and scattered when “on the clock”. Sikander and Stefan were especially irritated at the new rule of no drinking on the clock, but agreed to work on coordination, with Sikander excitedly talking about hand signals to teach everyone. There was some discussion about the best next steps and they landed on a nearby asteroid Tochiro knew about, hoping to make repairs and set a course for Cloudhook. During the flight, they also took a closer look at the staff, finding Grapthor’s rune on it – further indication the Dreignor was involved.
As they landed, the group was disappointed to find it underequipped, with only a dockmaster shack that was clearly abandoned and a lonely pub. The pub, of course, belonged to Hobb. Heading inside, they all greet him, and find the troll awake and wanting to talk about the staff they’d collected. Happy to see it was authentic, it became clear they would be returning to Waterdeep after a bit of discussion.
