Abyssals
The Abyssals or Abyssal Merfolk, are found in the lowest parts of the world's waters.
It is unknown if they are directly related or evolved separately, but due to their living depth they are rarely seen by other Mer, consequently Abyssals can be seen as outsiders. Other times they will be discounted as not doing enough to help protect the waters.
