Flagellants of Scarroh
"Take my blood, take my pain, take my shredded strips of flesh and give my people rain!"
~Excerpt from Flagellant's Prayer
Composition
Manpower
A mob of flagellants is roughly three hundred zealots. Mobs of this size band together to form armies in accordance to the wishes of bishops and prophets.
Equipment
Flagellants wear burlap or course hair trousers, and a backless shirt or tunic of the same. They rarely eat on campaign, and only ever hardtack bread and water when they do.
Weaponry
They wield flogging staves in one hand and hooked flails in the other.
Structure
A flagellant mob is commanded by a flagellant monk, who holds the absolute power of life and death over those in their command.
Tactics
Flagellants lay directly into their opponents, whipping and beating indiscriminately. It's common for innocent bystanders and even other flagellants to fall under the lash.
Training
Flagellants spend their time fasting, self-whipping, putting themselves through whatever trials and pains that local nature offers. They are shaped to be obedient, fearless, and brutal
