Living Armor
Living armor is a recent technology developed in Suszeng for use by the Cartographers Guild of Suszeng in a mission to chart the dangerously barren Kyonyita Desert. The armor is not actually optimized for battle, but rather for surviving the toxic, CO2-rich air of the desert. Due to the atmospheric composition of Kōna, the air in this region of the world is too difficult to breathe for most humans, and thus it is necessary to surround oneself with vegetation that is effective at filtering out carbon dioxide from the air. Therefore, living armor is light, cloth armor, bedded with moss and other densely-growing plants to surround the wearer and enable them to survive a trek through the desert. Living armor must be properly maintained and watered throughout its use in order to keep the plants alive. In proper shape, it can sustain a traveler for 6-12 months.
