Wild Pork
Given the abundance of wild pigs across the continent’s northern wilderness and elven dietary requirements, one would think that the caravan’s would make hearty dents in any porcine population as they passed through an area.
Whilst the nomadic elves do consume some, it is in relatively small quantities. This is largely due to their desire to leave little marking their passage. In the past, this was to keep them hidden from slavers. Nowadays, the caravans heed it through tradition.
The one exception is their annual festival where all the caravans gather and safety in numbers is seen as a greater deterrent for anyone seeking ill will.
Each caravan is expected to come with an offering, with most of them bringing animals they’ve hunted along the way which is often pig.
