Serval

Found in the Niholian lands, these small spotted cats were once merely used as a means of pest control. But many can also be found as pets amongst those of high wealth or noble status.

This prestige originated from within the court, where the nobles emulated Tsarina Viktoriya’s gift of a weaned kitten to her heavily pregnant wife. In the generations to follow, this imitation trickled down to the glass barons and upper merchants.

Whilst there are still plenty of servals working to keep farms and fishing harbours pest-free, their lives are far from the lavish ones their pet counterparts live. Despite this, many manor servals are indistinguishable in looks from the working save for a possible lack of battle scars and, of course, their jewelled collars.
