Root Cut-up
Often a morning meal amongst the elven caravans, this is one of few dishes the elven nomads routinely serve meatless, although that is no always a given.
Called such because it uses a variety of root vegetables (whether they be foraged, grown or bartered for) that are all diced into roughly the same size to promote even cooking.
Manufacturing process
Rather than throw everything into a pot as one might a stew, this dish is fried in a shallow, greased pan over a low fire. Vegetables that will take the longest to cook, such as potatoes or turnips, are added first. The rest of the medley is introduced as the cooking progresses, with additions such as bulbs or greens added at a time more due to personal preference of flavour and texture.
