Potage
This thick soup-like dish is a staple throughout much of Demarn’s midlands, including within the spellster tower, and often dished out alongside a serving of bread, if not in one.
Manufacturing process
Made from whatever is guaranteed to grow in the region, many variants are comprised largely of root vegetables (potatoes, turnips, carrots and the like) and fungi, with legumes or pulses added as the seasons allow.
These ingredients would be roughly chopped and boiled in a big cauldron, ideally in a broth made from stray bones and vegetable scraps, but most times, it would be water.
Herbs and spices were added whenever available. Rolled grains could also be introduced to thicken the broth and make for a heartier meal.
