With Demarn requiring large amounts of grain to not only feed the ever-present army holding back the Udynea Empire in the west, but the spellster tower situated in the midlands, bees are in large demand.
As such, apiaries often go hand-in-hand with their fields, this is especially true when it comes to the large swathes of buckwheat grown in the city of Whitemeadow.
This abundance of honey means that mead is seen as a common drink amongst the midland folk, just slightly above beer, and is consumed in great quantities.
Unlike most meads brewed in other kingdoms, that of the midlands has a robust malty tang with a hint of bitterness similar to Udynean molasses.
