Priest

Priests and priestesses are the religious officials of the Church of the Divine King and Queen. They are the people who read and interpret the holy texts and convey their messages to the "regular" people in a comprehensive manner. They also are in charge of the communities spiritual welfare, leading prayer in religious service and, to some extent, educating people, especially children on the right way to live according to the church's interpretation of the holy texts.

Men and women can become priests, though their functions vary depending on their gender. Priestesses are almost always dedicated to the Divine Queen specifically and usually mainly work as healers and midwives, offering their spiritual knowledge and advice to women and children. They are esteemed members of the clergy, but they are mostly acting behind closed doors.

Male priests on the other hand are much more visible to the public, since they are usually the ones who lead the prayers in the temples and who are usually seen out on the streets. They are either dedicated to both Divines or only the Divine King. Those only serving the Divine King are generally found in male-dominated fields such as the military, or advising political leaders.

Priests and Priestesses are required to wear simple robes, usually in natural shades of white, grey, tan or brown, depending on their rank and function within the church.

Higher ranking priests and priestesses wear some form of additional colourful adornment to denominate their station, usually in the form of a coloured sash or shawl.

Priestesses are also required to wear a veil covering their hair, while male priests are required to be clean-shaven. Some even shave their heads, but that is optional.
