Lenenport

The town of Lenenport, located on the seashore only a few horseback hours east of Lenen, functions as the city's harbour for trade and travel by sea. By itself, it is a small, quaint town, and the majority of its inhabitants are either fishermen or work on the docks in some capacity, loading wares, in customs or as sailors. In winter, when the seas become difficult to navigate due to storms or ice, it can happen that there are more ships on the docks than Lenenport has buildings.

Still, it is both the smallest and the most important of the three major trade ports in Keider. It's importance stems from its closeness to the kingdom's capital city and the residence of its King, which sets it apart from all the other small harbour towns found along the shores of Keider. Unlike Lenenport, the other two major ports are located in cities where the trading happens locally.

Any merchant coming to Lenen by sea must go through customs and pay their dues in Lenenport and then travel to the city. Even though trading in Lenen is requires additional effort on the merchants's part, it is associated with enough of a profit to make it worth their while, since the city is not only home to the royal court, but also to many other wealthy people.

Despite the distance between Lenen and Lenenport, the town is considered a district of Lenen from a political and governmental standpoint.

Just like all other districts of the city, Lenenport has one representative in the City Council of Lenen, who is there to represent the towns interests.

Still, the town has something of a special position amongst Lenen's districts due to its distance from the main city and its importance to the city's economy.
