Lady Arminda

Lady Arminda, also known as just the Mistress, is best known throughout the kingdom as the long-standing mistress of King Ageun III. of Keider. This makes her one of the highest ranking women in the kingdom, second only to Queen Lupera herself, and arguably the most influential one. She was raised in the city of Lenen as a nobleman's daughter. Alongside her siblings, she learned all the rules of high society in order to hopefully one day marry into another noble family and become a lady of the court.

She did, however, go down a somewhat darker path than her brothers and sisters, when at fifteen years old, she was recruited by the Guild, a secret underground organization of assassins in the city of Lenen. There, she learned how to fight and kill while keeping up appearances on the surface, continuing her education as a noble lady who was on her way to be introduced to society.

The Guild had originally been created by the royal court as an organization of spies tasked with sniffing out and discretely disposing of any threats to King and Crown, but had long since turned away from that purpose. Still it worked within the established order of the kingdom, a fact Arminda and a few other members of the Guild despised. They decided to form their own suborganization within the Guild, aiming to overthrow the system altogether and to implement a whole new one.

Arminda managed to plant herself at court as the King's mistress, which came with a high rank, direct access to the King and the ability to directly influence his rulings. The end goal of her mission was to kill the King and disband the court to make room for a new system. For the past twenty years, she has been biding her time, raising her and the King's three children, waiting for her son Aslo to come of age so he could step in temporarily after the King's death.
