Rae Valley Railway
The Rae Valley Railway is a preserved railway in Eastern Etorea. The line is owned ans operated by the Knave's Blade Locomotive Club. The line was originally opened by the Great Northern & Southern Railway in the 1890s to service the Rae Valley Resivior. The GN&SR ran both engineer trains, workmans trains and regular passenger trains until the company was nationalised.
The line passed into Etorean National Railways ownership in 1919 with trains being continually ran until buses took over the passenger traffic and easier road access caused the ENR to close the line to passenger traffic in 1955 and goods traffic in 1961. The Cordoon Road Station was sold in 1963 to the Knave's Blade Locomotive Club as part of their museum. In 1968, the club purchased the line as far as Shanglen along with the level crossing and crossing keeper's hut with the intent of running small passenger serivces as a preserved line.
